Grrr

Last night I discovered that while Kevin was being helpful and cleaning off the table, he has been throwing things away. Without looking at what they are. Like a card I got from my dad's cousins who couldn't come to our wedding. That had a check in it. For $125. (they saved it for a 6 month-iversary gift) Which I really needed, because Kevin said I could use it to buy new work pants, because both of mine have holes in them right now. I am so mad. I had a really shitty day yesterday. I thought maybe it would be in the garbage we just took out but it isn't so it is already long gone. So now I have to send a ty for this and what am I going to say, "My husband's a jerk and threw out your check, please send a new one?" GRRR!

Re: Grrr

  • Um, that is not good.  I would be absolutely furious!!!  Outside of this, your DH sounds lovely but, really?  Who goes through and throws things out without even looking.

As for the check - I would call your Dad's cousins, apologize on behalf of your husband and let them know what happened.  Let them know it was an honest mistake and send your sincerest apologies but, they really need to know.  Having that check outstanding could really screw up their accounts. The sunny side to it is that they may very well get a laugh out of it and send another check.

  • I'm so sorry! I would be super annoyed as well. But, what's done is done and now you can only decide how you'll handle it. They need to know about the accidentially trashed check, so think of a nice apology and call them up. Good luck with this!
