Since Malia is off trading in her mommy-to-be card for her mommy card, I thought I'd post this today. Next week, I'll be in Great Britain, and will try my best to have it up on Wednesday (I am taking a laptop, so hopefully, I will have a connection).

(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Feeling good. Exited and a little nervous about my big u/s on Friday morning. I just pray that all is well with our Little Being. J is super excited! I am also feeling anxious about my work trip to Great Britain next week...5 cities in 7 days (including travel to/from the US)...OY! My body aches just thinking about it. I hope I don't overdo it.
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting?
You're going to have to decide how you're going to be wrong, because inevitably you will be wrong sometimes.
Do the best you can with what you know and when you know better you'll do better.
(3) Worst advice?
Your life will never be the same (said in a negative tone). Well no kidding!?!? If I wanted my life to remain as it is, I wouldn't have gotten knocked up!
(4) Name game...easy or hard? Have you always just known what name you'd chose or was it a huge task to determine the name? BONUS: List your name(s) here!
Fairly easy. At least for us...the grandparents (and we have 4 sets!), on the otherhand are full of their ideas...EEK! We're 99.9% going with Elizabeth Joan for a girl or Theodore Maxwell for a boy.

Right now? Since I've "popped" I cannot live without my maternity pants. SO comfy!

**Lori, I would be happy to fill in next week and take care of posting if you would like.

not much new here, still furiously calling around for a midwife w/out much luck. Have a back up a appointment with the hospital midwives next week - if anything I will keep it b/c I haven't had a normal appointment since week 10 and I do have some questions I would like to go over and I would like to set up an ultrasound appointment. Don't want to know the gender, but did plan to have 1 ultrasound and the next few weeks is when they typical schedule.
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting?
Unless I'm already mentally tuning people out I don't think anyone has really given me any advice.
(3) Worst advice? same as above
(4) Name game...easy or hard? Have you always just known what name you'd chose or was it a huge task to determine the name? BONUS: List your name(s) here!
super easy. MH had a boy name in mind, I like it so that was easy. I was also happy he didn't want to name a boy after himself since he is a "III"
Our girl idea is a name we both have in our families.
I think it would be cute to have "A" middle names because MH's middle name is just "A" (as in, just the letter) so we just brainstormed and came up with some ideas.
No bonus points for me because we are not sharing our names.

I'm with you on the maternity pants. I like the full panel or demi panel ones from the Gap. I think new bras are a must as well.
It's a deal! Thanks!

I can't believe I'm into the 30's of the weeks... I'm very tired, but very excited for the showers that are coming up... well, mostly excited that I get to see lots of my friends
We've been lazy about traveling to see friends since I've been prego.
I also met the last dr in my practice - I think I'll be ok with all of them now, whoever may be on call the day I deliver.
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting?
Stretch and walk.... and learn to pick your battles. He's not even here yet, but I am getting lots of practice with MH!
(3) Worst advice?
sleep now - man, I'm TRYING, but it's hard! I'm pretty exhausted most of the time.
(4) Name game...easy or hard? Have you always just known what name you'd chose or was it a huge task to determine the name? BONUS: List your name(s) here!
Well we thought it was easy until the middle name (after BIL) became contentious due to MH becoming closer to his other brother and now fear of hurt feeling has cropped up. He will be William something. William Jonathan, William James, William (my maiden name), something....

Comfy shoes and my body pillow - the Leachco Back N Belly monstrocity that I am unable to sleep without: http://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Back-Belly-Contoured-Pillow/dp/B0002E7DIQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1252523273&sr=8-1
ok, will do. I even added it to my (work) calendar so I won't forget.

My update is a bit long, I was away from work as well as the board last week. We had a scare last Sunday/Monday. I was having really bad cramping that my midwife thought might be contractions so we went into L&D. After ruling out pre-term labour it turns out that I have an irritable uterus. So my braxton hicks are unconfortable/painful. The baby is perfectly fine though. But then Tuesday my arthritus (ankylosing spondilitus) flared up as a result of the contractions. So my back and hip spasmed everytime I had a contraction. The spasming was very painful.
I'm going to see an OB in two weeks to see what I can take (if anything) and how this may affect my labour. I'm also waiting to hear back from my Rheumatologist.
Other than that I'm really really trying to stay positive. It's been a tough couple of weeks with hormones and then the scare/contractions.
BUT I did order a baby book from etsy (same place Malia did) and I'm really enjoying filling it out. It helps me remember the good things about being pregnant! Plus it's so stinkin adorable!!
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting?
"Take it as it comes! You are strong enough to get through it because it doesn't last forever." That's from my momma who (other than my DH) has been my rock! I'm so lucky to have such a fabulous support system!
(3) Worst advice?
I'm trying to be positive, remembering some of the bad advice I recieved is making me mad - I'll share later when it's funny to me
(4) Name game...easy or hard? Have you always just known what name you'd chose or was it a huge task to determine the name? BONUS: List your name(s) here!
Names have been kind of hard just because Russ doesn't like many names. So far we like Owen for a boy and Elyse (Elle) for a girl. But we're going to wait to meet our little one before we decide.

Our new hot tub!!!! Russ' parents gave us their hot tub, so Russ finised installing it this weekend. We don't have it turned up very high so we've been having hot tub parties for two every night! I love it because it give us time to talk and also really helps my back muscles which are still sore from all the spasming.
I also LOVE my maternity pants - I'm not sure I ever want to go back to zippers and buttons!

Feeling pretty good. Started feeling definite flutters in the last week. I thought I felt them around 16w but wasn't totally sure. Now, I'm positive. And I can actually sometimes feel it from the outside already, so B got to feel a kick.
But, it's not so pleasant when baby kicks your cervix! If you haven't felt that yet, you'll know it when you do!
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting?
Hmm...we've been pretty lucky that we haven't really been given unsolicited advice yet.
(3) Worst advice?
Ditto what Lori said about "Your life is gonna totally change". No $hit. Why do they make it sound like it's horrible?! UGH.
(4) Name game...easy or hard? Have you always just known what name you'd chose or was it a huge task to determine the name? BONUS: List your name(s) here!
We've kinda had our girl name picked for a bit and it just sort of stuck, or at least we just kept coming back to the same name. So I guess it's set, but for some reason, B thinks we should wait until she's born to announce it. So you'll have to wait on that! Still coming up with a middle name, though. (Looking for a Japanese middle name.)

I love my BeBand. I can still button my jeans but they're pretty tight now and the pressure is totally uncomfortable so I always wear the band now. It only rode up with one particular pair of jeans but it's been fine with the others. (I have yet to buy maternity pants but I'm looking around now.)
Hm, I wasn't even sure if I reply to this post since I don't have much to contribute, but I'll try my best...
(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Still kinda in shock. I didn't expect to get KU and I feel weird that I am, almost surreal =P (is this normal?) Also, worried about spotting. My milestone would be the bfp yesterday =P
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting?
Er...haven't gotten too many so far, but probably the advice about no sushi. I've had so many cravings for it that if I hadn't known, I would've downed a bunch of raw fish by now =P
(3) Worst advice?
Someone I knew once said "having kids aren't worth it". I guess I can't actually prove that it's the worst advice since I never had any kids myself but I still disagree with it =P
(4) Name game...easy or hard? Have you always just known what name you'd chose or was it a huge task to determine the name? BONUS: List your name(s) here!
MH and I have tossed around some names here and there for fun. I think we might have a girl name in mind but no set boy name yet =P
(5) Recommend one or two must-haves for pregnancy or early motherhood. What can you just not live without (besides your DH!)
Um...I don't know much of anything now since it's so early and I was soooo unprepared for this. Right now, I seem to need water all the time. Like I wake up in the middle of the night just completely dehydrated and I don't know why. And the first thing I want in the morning is also water.
TOTALLY normal. I'm almost 18 weeks and it's STILL surreal! It's still totally weird to me that something I've wanted all my life actually happened.

huge, sore, and ready to pop! i went to the dr. yesterday, i am still 1 cm dilated, no progress since last week. sigh.
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting?
"you are about to experience a love you never thought possible"
(3) Worst advice?
i can't really think of any . . . maybe after the baby is here!

SOOOO hard! we are really struggling. i was thinking of posting a poll soon on the board to get you ladies' input.
(5) Recommend one or two must-haves for pregnancy or early motherhood. What can you just not live without (besides your DH!)
early pg: bella or be band. makes your pants' lives that much longer.
later pg: pedicures. give those swollen feet a treat, and make them look pretty!
(1) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Bella started smiling last friday!! I love it! Oh and I left her with DH so I could do yoga, read my blog for details...not good...
(2) Best advice you've received regarding pregnancy or parenting? Sleep when baby sleeps... it's true but its SO hard. There are so many things to do, laundry, shower, EAT, talk to friends, have visitors, now pump to store milk for going back to work, you get the idea. I want to sleep but sometimes I lay down and can't sleep. It's SO much easier said than done. Yesterday I got 3 one hour blocks of sleep (not much!) but I still couldn't fall asleep when I layed down to take a nap... now Bella's sleeping and I'm pumping.. go figure!
(3) Worst advice?see above
(4) Name game...easy or hard? Have you always just known what name you'd chose or was it a huge task to determine the name? BONUS: List your name(s) here! Bella was a name DH ALWAYS wanted, he even asked me when we were dating if I'd name my daughter Bella... so that was a given. Kailani was just something we liked. Plus we like the meaning. She HAD to have a Hawaiian middle name since that's such a large part of our relationship... As for boys. We have the name Greyson picked out for next time and we have TONS of other girls names we like... it'll be boy names that give us issues
(5) Recommend one or two must-haves for pregnancy or early motherhood. What can you just not live without (besides your DH!) Lanolin cream and soothies gel pads. My nipples still hurt after 6 weeks of breastfeeding! Bella is a STRONG sucker and she clamps down sometimes so those two things are my good friends
Highly recommend both of them. Oh and yesterday I just bought larger flanges for my breastpump and I think that helped too.
