Grilling Corn on the Cob

Has anyone done it?

I've googled it and have found two options: slathered in a TON of butter, which we'd obviously like to avoid, or soaked without the husks for a while, which isn't feasible considering I won't get home until 4ish, want to grill it 5:30ish, and it said to soak for like 3 hours.

Re: Grilling Corn on the Cob

  • I've done it and usually shuck it and add a few pats of butter & wrap it in tin foil.  Honestly, we try to avoid grilling the corn, it just takes SO LONG.  So I usually just boil it on the stove.
  • I have actually never done it but my BIL did it when we were on vacation and he did it the way Jen said.
  • I do like Jen says too.  I guess you can use margarine if you don't want to use butter.

  • We usually do it like Jen said if we grill it. But the majority of the time I just boil the corn. When I boil it I add some milk and butter to the water once the corn is in and it makes it super sweet :)

  • I know I'm late but I thought I'd share for the future.  I put the corn in a plastic grocery bag and warm in the microwave for about 2 minutes (helps to cook faster),  I pull back the husks and lightly pepper and spray with butter then wrap back up in husks and wrap in foil with shiny side on the inside and grill for about 30 minutes.  It's yummy!
