Lori-What happened to Sarah?
Did I totally miss it? She fell?! Poor baby.
Re: Lori-What happened to Sarah?
After dinner she was up on one of our chairs in the kitchen playing while I was cleaning up after dinner (something we do everyday). She had completely unrolled a roll of aluminum foil and I had just rolled it back up and turned to put it in the pantry (which is right next to the chair). At this point, I'm guessing, she stood up and leaned over and fell head-first into our tile floor making the MOST HORRIBLE SOUND I've ever heard. She was hysterical and I wasn't much calmer. I got a hold of C (who was working late) and he agreed that we should take her to urgent care to get checked out.
She didn't lose consciousness and her eyes looked fine but I couldn't even get an icepack on her head she was so hysterical.
By the time we got to Riverside Medical, she was acting just fine. I kept talking to her and asking her questions, just to keep her talking on the drive there.
The doctor checked her out and said she looked good but because she fell on the side of her head instead of the back or front he wanted x-rays. Apparently the side of the head has an artery there and he wanted to make sure there wasn't a crack or bleeding.
The x-ray was HORRENDOUS! I had to practically lay on top of her to hold her down the whole time - she absolutely freaked out!
The x-rays came back normal, thank God. The doctor told us to monitor her breathing overnight (so I didn't get much sleep) and to check her eyes and make sure she doesn't seem weak.
I feel awful...like the worst mother in the world...my mom keeps reminding me that they're accidents and could happen to anyone at any time. I just keep reminding myself of that...
Yeah, our kitchen table is a pub set (bought pre-baby).
I just called daycare and she's doing fine...guess she's just got a really hard head.
