Poll: What Laundry detergent do you use....
I just started buying the Purex 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets and we love them.
They make everything smell so yummy and leaves all the clothes soft. Love the smell of fresh laundry!

Re: Poll: What Laundry detergent do you use....
THis is a great question... my DH is in the Textile Quality control field and tells me that tide is the best, but i feel its too rough on the clothing.
I used to use Purex, but it did not leave the clothing too clean (even using oxi-clean)

I bought some giant size cheap brand once. I cannot rememeber the name. I ended up hating it. It didnt clean properly and had no nice smell. It took me forever to finish that giant box.
I love the smell of Tide; I feel it leaves my clothes the cleanest. We buy the Free version. I also use Downy, but only for certain clothes. I just started to use Oxy Clean, but havent' see much results yet, but then again, I don't stain my clothes like DH does. LOL
Also, I don't use dryer sheets since they leave residue that causes skin allergies... which is why I use Downey.

I didn't know this! I use dryer sheets..I actually put like 5-6 downey sheets in each load. Terrible I know but I love the smell. I think you may have made me realize something! I have terrible allergies..Im allergic to dust/pollen etc. and for months I have had a rash that comes and goes on my legs. I switched my razor 3 times and dont use shaving cream. I haven't gone to the dermatologist bc my insurance requires a refferal and I just havent been able to make an appt with my doc. I think im going to discontinue using the sheets and see if that helps me. I can't believe I didn't think of this!
Jenny, that's probably it!! You should also try using scentless detergent and no fabric softener or anything else. I used to have allergies and it was due to my detergents! For some reason, I am no longer allergic to them, but I had rashes and everything like you do. It would even happen if I slept at someone else's house and used their towels that were washed with certain detergents...
Anyway, I use Tide Original and Downey Fabric Softener for all the loads. I also use the Shout Color Catcher and Bounce Dryer Sheets.
I love the way fresh laundry smells and feels!
If you do like fabric softeners, but are afraid of the chemicals, try bounce free and clear sheets! we've found them at target and babies r us... i used them on abby's clothes and everything! i have really sensitive skin and since i started using them, i've stopped itching ilke crazy :-D they're also scentless... they just really help make the clothes static free!
