Our wedding is just around the corner (so is Nikki's!) and I am wondering if any of you ladies have words of wisdom for the big day? Any regrets you have? Any fave aspects that you remember the most? Something you wish you had done differently?
Re: Going to the chapel :)
Aw, you both must be so excited!
My advice is go with the flow. No matter how much planning you put into the day, something will go wrong. It's out of your control and at the end of the day, you are there to marry your best friend.
When you are walking down the aisle, don't look around. Look at your FI. That moment when you lock eyes with him is nothing if not magical.
Also, dance with your husband at the reception. This may seem obvious but I have seen a lot of brides who spend the whole reception socializing or dancing with family and friends (I used to work for a wedding photographer). That's ok too but I promise that you will treasure the photos captured when you are dancing with your husband.
As for planning and such...have as much done as possible exactly one week before the wedding. I like that those last few days I was able to just pack for the honeymoon, clean my house, get a massage and chill out.
Sorry this turned into a novel. As you can tell, I loved my wedding. I hope you both have a wonderful wedding day!
::sniffs and wipes tears::
Enjoy it because it goes by way to fast. My wedding day was hectic and if I didnt have pictures I wouldnt remember every little detail. Also Eat before the wedding because chances are you won't have time at your reception. I barely ate anything because I was so nervous and had hardly no time to eat anything at the reception.
This makes me want to go back to my wedding day it was so amazing!
i think i might be the one on here that has been married the longest.....honestly, 5 and half years later, i wish i went to Vegas and banked all that money.
but anyway..... the thing i love best from my wedding is my photos and the video, i am sooo glad i had video.
dont freak out if something doesn't go right, trust me, i had much drama that day. got in a fight with my mom and we didnt even speak (there is a shot in my wedding video of me giving my mom a hideous look). and one of my BMs got in a hit and run accident and she chased the guy into the ghetto of NEw Orleans. it was crazy but everyone made it in one piece.
I agree with everyone!
I wanted things done a certain way but realized that I couldn't and was relying on other and they didn't do them exactly as I wanted or forgot to put little things out...but it honestly didn't matter in the end.
All that mattered was that I looked beautiful to H and he looked handsome to me.
We had a private attendant who forced us to sit down and she brought us all the food so we ate however we had a ton of people who kept bugging us haha.
It was a rule of mine to say hello to everyone and thank them but just like Thanks so much! and moved on because I didnt want to feel like I left folks out.
Have fun and make sure to drink water in between drinks because you will get dehydrated...oh yah and try to eat something before hand.
I thought I had all the time in the world to get ready but ended up kind of rushing so if you did a cute timeline stick to it because I didn't.
Just really have fun! It goes by sooo fast
I agree with everyone else.
Something will go wrong the day of, no one but you will notice, and it will be okay. Just go with the flow, it will make the day less stressful. Enjoy every minute of the day because the day goes by so incredibly fast.
Amen to that.....
Savor every moment, because it will go by so fast.
