American Idol Fans
I haven't watched in a few seasons, but Fox just made the announcement that Paula is gone and Ellen is in as the new judge.

That was my exact thought when I heard she was taking Paula's place. Of course it appears to have worked well for Padma whatsherface on Top Chef. The girl was a model before. I have no clue what she is doing as a judge on Top Chef or writing a cookbook.
1. I don't think she's funny.
2. I think they chose her because she's popular. She was a guest judge on the So You Think You Can Dance finale. She had NOTHING remotely valid to say about anyone.
Shoe, I was always confused about the Padma thing, and I feel if I were a chef and she said something bad about my food I'd be like "what the eff do you know?"
Maybe Ellen is there to be the positive person, like Paula was, because even though Paula was a "singer," did she ever really offer up anything constructive or intelligible?
I know! A couple seasons back, she didn't like something that someone cooked and she told them that she spit it back into her napkin. All I could think was, Oh please. You probably used to vomit for recreational purposes back in the day.

I remember when she spit it into the napkin. I can't imagine that it could have been that bad.
Yeah, I'm not her biggest fan. On that note, I'm hitting the sack. MH is passed out on the chair so maybe I can sneak into bed without him waking up and he'll just go sleep in the guest room. Is that evil? Oh well!

I actually LOVE Ellen, she's my favorite talk show host.
BUT I don't see what she would know about music. But I don't watch AI either, so I'm no help here!
I like Ellen, but not as a judge for a singing competition.
That said, AI isn't exactly a singing competition anymore. It's a popularity contest. See Sangia (sp?).
