What have I missed the past few days?!
I am too lazy to scroll and read the posts. I know that Malia had her adorable baby girl. Anything else new and exciting?
Baby Ashton has been keeping me super busy so I have not had time to check in. I had to stop nursing for a few days due to some meds that I needed to take and it didn't go so well. I'm happy to say that we're back to breastfeeding and I couldn't be happier!!

you missed the mommy check in (scroll down a little)... what happened that you had to stop bf for a few days? I left Bella at home with Ryan to do a yoga class GIANT fail! She hated the bottle... There's more info on the bad night in my blog
It was super sad, needless to say, I cried the entire way home and I was only gone 3 hours! How the hell am I going to go back to work??!!!

It's kind of a long story but I have a really bad bladder infection (since he was born) and have taken three different kinds of antibiotics and they finally put my on Cipro in the hopes this will get rid of it. There was conflicting info between his pedi and my primary. Pedi said it was up to me to continue to nurse, etc. but there had not been too many studies on how it affects baby, etc. My Dr. said no way! So I wanted to be safe.
Well today, he has been screaming crying so I called his Dr. and went over the formula i had him on etc....(I pumped a little but didn't have a whole lot of time to build a supply for 3 days) and wanted to know how long after I finished my last pill could I begin to nurse again. Lactation lady calls me to tell me that Cipro is FINE to use while breastfeeding. The medication was recently updated etc....so we are finally back to nursing and he is 100% better all ready.
I read your blog and totally can feel your pain. I felt so bad or you. At least Ryan didn't call you and freak you out:-) Ashton actually took the bottle too easy and it broke my heart:-( He actually liked the plain ole (brown nipple) Playtex drop in bottle and nipple. I cried like a baby when they told me that I couldn't nurse him for 3 days...talk about depressed!! I am so happy that we are back to normal. Ashton latched right now and we've not had any issues of nipple confusion.
Have you tried to get Bella to try different nipples? We tried about 4 before Ashton took one.

We've only used one nipple so far, we're trying Platex drop ins tomorrow when I go to yoga... hopefully it's better! We've tried 4 different pacis with NO luck so we'll see.. I'm exhausted but having a hell of a time napping during the day when Bella's napping. How are you sleeping? Bet Ashton's loving that he's got the real thing back!!
Sorry to hear about your bladder infection! That sucks.
Not much new here. Had a bit of a scare last week (it's in the mommy check in).
We're going to finish painting the nursery tonight.
Can't wait to see some pics of Ashton when you get a chance

We've not had much luck with pacis either...he will sometimes take the soothie with Adam or my mom if he is really upset. Also the nuk. I've heard good things about the MAM as well.
Sleep?!? I am so exhausted, but like you can't nap when he does. He did sleep last night from 11 - 1 so I was excited, but then he was up at 3:00, 3:45, and then 4:15:-( I ended up sleeping with him on my chest in the recliner till 5:30 and then Aston and I went in the bed and I slept with him until 7:30. I think Ashton just likes to sleep by me.,...it just makes me nervous in the bed with him. I am really lucky that my mom is hear. I don't know why I was complaining about her staying so long, it has been amazing and I am not sure I could have survived these past 4 weeks without her.
As she tells me, it will get easier and try to enjoy how little and cuddly they are right now:-)
I still can't believe you are at 27 weeks already! Time is flying by! I am so sorry to hear about your scare. I really hope that the back pain, etc. does not affect your labor. My mom has rheumatoid arthritis and I see how much pain she is in sometimes. I am sorry that you are having to deal with that ontop of the scare. Keep hydrated and don't stress!
