Has anyone listed their house 'For Sale By Owner' ?
We are putting our house on the market in a couple weeks and we are throwing around the idea of listing it ourselves instead of listing w/ a realtor.
If you have done this, what was your experience with it?
What company did you use to do this?
How much did it cost you to do so?
My MIL who is a realtor is coming over tonight to talk to us about maybe doing this, we were originally going to use her but she wants us to make the most $$ we can and brought up the idea of maybe putting it up ourselves and she can help with flyers, etc... or whatever we need??
Re: Has anyone listed their house 'For Sale By Owner' ?
I tried FSBO several years ago when my ex and I divorced. We had one or two couples who wanted to see the house, but nothing ever came of it. Sorry, I can't remember the cost involved, but it was minimal.
At the time, I was working with a realtor to find a new place to live after our house sold. He just happened to know a couple who he thought would love our house, and he proposed a 3% commission since his buyers were represented and the ex and I were not. That's how our house sold.
You could always try FSBO with your MIL's help. If it doesn't work, would she list your home and waive her end of the commission?
