recommend your doc

Since I'm working in BR now I need a new Ob/Gyn in the BR area, most likely at Woman's Hospital due to insurance.  Any good doc's around?

Also, tomorrow is my last day at work in New Orleans then I have next week off!  Going to talk to lenders and look at houses all next week! After seeing apartment prices around $1200/month in the Gonzales area I figured it might be better off to buy. So we'll see what the next few months will bring!

  • I saw Dr. Laurie Whitaker with The Women's Clinic at Woman's. Really, any doctor in that entire group is really good. Most the women in my family see one of the doctors at The Women's Clinic.

Good luck with the house hunt! It's lots of fun, but can be stressful. And, the rents in BR are absolutely ridiculous, if you can get into a house, you'll probably end up saving money.

    Ditto!!!
  • How exciting for you guys!  Yes, rent is seriously ridonkulous in BR.  GL with the house hunting.  It can be a very fun but exhausting process.

I see Dr. Cheree Schwartzenburg at Woman's.  She's pretty awesome and I adore her.  A couple girls on here see either her or someone in her practice.  Another popular practice is the Kleinpeter's.  You can't go wrong with either.

    GL with everything!

  • I use to live in Prairieville and the rent is extremely high. I rented a house in Cross creek or east creek villas, its a newer neighborhood starting in the 150s . It would be a good starter neighborhood to check out when we rented we were paying 1100 a mth for a 3 bedroom when we moved out they rented  it out for almost 1400.00 its a nice area though.

As far as Obgyn goes I saw Jan bennanti at womans and I loved her. I was sad when I moved I had to hunt for a new one yet again.

  • I also see Cheree Schwartzenburg, and she is great!
  • I see Dr. Renee Harris near Woman's Hospital. I'm pretty sure she is affiliated with the hospital, since her office is close and all the other doctors run back and forth there. She's excellent and has been the only gyno to make me 100% comfortable.

I wanted to see her SOOO bad but she's not in my inurance.

I would highly suggest Dr. Jane Peek, same office as Whitaker, (my insurance is wierd) her staff always calls back within a couple hours, and they make a point to get to know you.

  • I see Dr. Wendy Holden-Parker. She's in the physican's tower at Womans. I LOVE her and will definitely cry when she ever quits practicing.

Anyway, I know people who also see Dr. Sherman, Dr. Hollier, Dr. Willet and Dr. Brown (a male) and all have nothing but good things to say. I've seen Dr. Sherman and Dr. Brown myself for short notice problems during my 1st pregnancy and both were very nice and made me feel comfortable.
