Melting Pot Questions

Do you usually order the whole meal (cheese, salad, meat, chocolate) or do you order ala carte?

The last time we got the meal for two it was way too much for us. I was thinking we would share the meal for two with three people tonight (and get an extra salad).

Does the Melting Pot in Harrisburg have booths or tables?  Someone in our group pointed that the one guy is big and may not fit in a booth.  I don't think there is much I can do about this at this point because I already changed our reservation once from 4 to 8 people which made the reservation move from 8 to 9:15.  If I move it again we probably won't eat until midnight!

Re: Melting Pot Questions

  • When I went we sat at a booth, but I know the restaurant in Towson has tables, so I would think this one would too. Plus most places don't have booths for 8 people. I agree, its a lot of food. My favorite courses are the cheese and dessert, so sometimes my DH and I just skip the meat. Probably the ala carte is the way to go b/c we've done that with a big group of people and it worked well.
  • I've only ever been to the King of Prussia Melting Pot, but they have both tables and booths.  Hopefully they have both in Harrisburg!

DH is a BIG eater, so we always end up getting the whole meal.  We've (I should say DH) never had trouble finishing it!

  • We order the whole meal. We get the meal for 2 (not the big night out, but one of the other ones that we really like that is for 2). It is a lot, but I eat slow so I don't fill up real fast. IMO the meal for 2 is actually small for 3 people, but that is just my opinion.

For 8 people I would imagine you'd be at one of their tables. They have mostly booths, but for a large group they have tables in rooms.

  • DH and I have finished the meals for 2, although it is a lot, but so good! :) We also ate really slow, so that helped.

Yum, I'm craving their chocolate peanut butter crunch fondue!

  • Thanks everyone!  We had the meal for two for three people and it was perfect!  The last time we were there I felt awful from eating too much (from the mentality that this is expensive better not waste it), so this was much better.  I don't know how it would be possible to eat fast there, it seems like we are always there for three hours.  We will be definitely going back to the one in Harrisburg, the only bad thing was the awful music they were playing.

  • Denise glad to hear that you had a good time!  I can't wait until Wednesday night when DH and I go!!  I think we're getting the big night out because I know DH will like all the meat selections.
