if you were going to drink some wine with spicy Chinese (one of the chicken ones - I can't remember if it's General Tso's or Kung Pao or which one!)...
What wine would you drink? (Help a wine-dumbass out!)
Re: Theoretically...
Mmm..I love Reisling.
I don't normally drink wine with Chinese food though...nor do I eat spicy Chinese. Although Chinese sounds GOOD for dinner tonight!
I seem to always fall back on White Zin, Kristin. I've never liked the Rieslings I've had.
Although that is the wine, apparently, after googling General Tso + wine. You apparently are supposed to have a fairly sweet wine to compete with the sweetness of the Chinese, or the Chinese will make your drier wines very bitter tasting.
Hmm, might end up with the beer after all! LOL
See I knew Reisling was good with everything
If you are able to find Columbia Winery Reisling try that. It's so good and goes down like apple juice!
Kristin, this kind:
(Pacific Rim, Dry Riesling but there's also a Sweet Riesling)
Was FANTASTIC - even without the Chinese! It was the first wine I'd tasted and gone "Wow, I can actually taste the fruits they're talking about without it being sickening!"
I saw SO MANY Moscatos, but I'd tried that a few months ago. I really struggle with sweet drinks now.
Thanks, everyone!
