Motivation

So when I got my new Wii I was really good about exercising and watching my diet. Then I got lazy. I partly blame the house hunting crap, but there have definitly time I chose the couch over a workout. This morning I could barely find a pare of pants that I could wear that didn't cut me in half. So I REALLY need to get back into it.

So what I need from you is motivation. Give me all your reasons why I need to work at getting skinny again and keep working on it.

Re: Motivation

  • I would hang my bikini on the fridge handle. hehe It worked. I'm back to my size 7.

A size 7? Wow 2 brandy's could fit in my pants.

  • melinda-when the time comes being fit and trim while pregnant makes things so much easier. Plus it's 2x as hard to lose after baby. 4x as hard to lose after 2 babies.

2 brandy's could never be a good thing. I was super psyched. I was barely fitting into an 11/12 for awhile. :p

That's fantastic brandy. Can you see me turning green?

  • Ok, so after Kristy emailed me I remember the real motivation of it all (I'm c & p from our email)

An interview with Oprah & Michele Obama. Oprah asked how she stayed so fit & M answered by waking up at 4 every morning. O said how impressed she was & applauded her efforts. M responded, ?if I had to wake up at 4 for the girls I would. Taking care of my health & making time for myself should be no different. They need a mother who is confident in how  she feels about herself.?

That really struck a chord w/me.

I like that!   It's "my" time when I get up to do it at 5:30am.  I'm doing it to get healthy for Sarah and C and ME!  Also, it gives me a TON of energy (which is needed to chase after Sarah).  I also love me some endorphins!

  • Awesome! Thanks!

Part of my issue is I already get up at 4:30am to catch my vanpool. Getting up earlier to exercise would mean getting up at 3:30am. That is just not happening. Wink

Keep it coming! I'll make myself a motivation sheet to read when I need a push. Smile

  • How about a vacation? My friend's motivation is a trip to Greece if she loses X amount of weight.
  • We don't have any vacation plans for a while Sad but that's a good one.
  • This sounds pretty bad but before we started trying for Mary, H said when I lost 10 lbs we could start trying. I lost it in like 6 weeks. Maybe 8.

Ha! That is good motivation. But we've already been trying for a year. Though Kat's right, I'd really like to be in better shape if/when we ever get lucky.

  • I knew you were trying but didn't realize it had been so long. I am so sorry to hear that. :(
  • Oh, and guess what...by the time I got pg, I had gained the weight back. lol
  • I have a pair of size 7 pants that I looked for for over a year and finally found. they hang in my bedroom to remind me that I can't fit into them.

Also, I always start a workout routine but never finish it because I get bored. I started mixing it up with a calendar. I do the Shred like 3 times a week, I do a dance cardio workout thing from Exercise TV twice a week and I run whenever Frankie reminds me to, which is about every day. I don't run a lot, just about 2 miles but it's a good little extra to add on. I found that I stick to the mixed up all different types of stuff better than doing the same thing every day.

  • Kristy~ Thanks. It's been a long year.

Jenn~ Changing it up is a good idea. I liked the 30DS, but never stuck with it long enough to get past level 1. Embarrassed

I can't tell you how many times I've done that. I've only finished it once I think. I looked AWESOME after but it took me like almost 2 months to finish it LOL. I think I have work out ADD. I get distracted really easily. Or maybe I'm lazy. I think I prefer the term Work Out ADD

Totally me!!! The Wii helped though because it offers such a wide range of exercises.

Yeah the Wii is a lot of fun. It's more like a game than a work out which I'm sure is their intent. God Bless the 21st Century

  • I haven't bought junior sizing in years!  All I know is that when I met MH, and was nutso about dieting/working out, I was a size 6.  Then by the wedding I was an 8, but I was still in decent shape.  Thanks to IF, my 10s were getting tight.  Having to keep buying new clothes should have been motivation enough for me to get my butt back into shape!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
