9/11 Memorial Video at School
My school does a little news show in the morning that broadcasts on the TV. They showed a video today to remember what happened 8 years ago. I was holding back tears. All of the emotions that I remember from that day flooded back, it was so sad and hard to watch.
My students were between 5 and 8 when it happened, and they don't really remember it happening, and watching that video, they couldn't believe all of the damage. I think it was the first time they watched it and understood the hugeness of it all.
Re: 9/11 Memorial Video at School
I was thinking today about how to me it was just yesterday and yet there is an entire generation that will talk about 9/11 like we talk about the JFK assassination.
And LOL at terrorist v. tourist!
I was thinking about the JFK thing too. Everyone says they remember exactly where they were when they either saw the assassination on TV or heard about it.
I will always remember where I was when I saw the live coverage of the planes flying into the towers.
It's crazy to think of things our kids will not have witnessed.
I always saved newspapers, so I have the USA Today issues from 9/12 to show Elise someday. I also have been saving issues from things since she's born, like the day after Obama was elected. I figure she can bring it all to show and tell someday.
