So, did you take up any new projects
after getting married? I feel like I need to channel all my DIY energy... and plan some trips. Anyone have any great weekend getaway recommendations? North-east US, south-east Canada if possible.

I got into designing mypublisher albums for other knotties.... after doing that I started getting into my food blog
planning (and going on) trips sounds like more fun though

We spent part of our wedding gifts on re-doing our basement family room. New carpet, reupholstering the current couch, a few new pieces of furniture, and framing/matting a few fav wedding photos for the wall. It's kind of been my little pet project, and is almost finished. Oh, and TTC!
Oh, and I have to say....Chicago in the summer/fall is amazing! It would be a great weekend trip. Can't wait to find out if we get the Olympic bid in a few weeks!
I don't think I've done a single DIY project since the wedding. But I do plan to repaint our dresser and night stand in the near future.
Otherwise, we pretty much just started traveling a lot (not that we didn't before we got married). Since our wedding just over a year ago we've been to Cancun, Florida (twice), Reno/Tahoe, Park City, Hawaii...and soon we're going to London. Gotta get it out of our system before the baby comes, I guess!
I'd go to New England to see the leaves turning for a fall trip. Maybe Boston? That would be awesome!
I started a blog with mostly recipes. It still has a long way to go but it's a start. I started taking jewelery making classes, started knitting a blanket, and am now thinking of a quilt.
I can't suggest any trips b/c I haven't really been out that way, except for Montreal...
We took a very long trip in the summer to Japan and Australia so am trying to put in some informative reviews on places we stayed, etc. So far, I've only reviewed 2 places in Japan... Oh well. Maybe next weekend!

I was really glad to be done wedding planning
But to fill time we started home reno projects, I made our wedding album in mypublisher and we were TTC. Honestly TTC took up most of my thoughts.
Plus I was also looking for a permanent job (I'd been working contracts prior to the wedding).

I'm getting more serious about my photography. It's been a little busy with Ben, but it's getting easier to manage
I know what you mean though about the DIY energy. Keep it going though!
YES. i had no idea what to do with myself after the wedding! i think i spent a few weeks just watching tv and letting my brain rot. then i started working on our photo albums, and loved how those turned out. i want to do another with our vacation photos, etc, but it was just too much work
then i started making wedding jewelry, and sold a few pieces. then i started crocheting. then i started knitting. we also bought a sewing machine. hahaha. yes, a little undecided in my crafting! but now i'm just knitting.
