OK, now THIS is a maternity photo
I'm thinking of doing something similar to this. What do you think? I'm worried the turkey will be too much. Should I go with a deer or a rabbit instead?

OMG YESSSS! Silly me - I hadn't even THOUGHT of a buffalo!
And it will definitely be blown up and framed...or maybe a nice canvas print. I'm thinking of hanging it right next to our wedding photos. Sort of the whole "circle of life" thing.

Whatever animal you decide... just make sure that your husband holds one leg, while you hold the other... that really makes the photo that much more disturbing.
