Too Sweet or not too sweet, that is the question
Okay so my mom's birthday is Friday, all she wants for her birthday is a chocolate fudge cake. ? So here is my plan. ?I will make a two tiered chocolate cake (big party on Friday big cake required) ?each tier will be a dark chocolate cake with a thick chocolate frosting. ?At the bottom of each tier will be a thin layer of triple chocolate fudge. ?To make the cake more interesting to look at there will be a few laura secord truffles on the top and milk chocolate shavings all over. ?She wants chocolate so I am giving her chocolate. ?Is it too much though? Personally I don't think so but DH is worried it will be a tooth rotter. ?Thoughts??

Re: Too Sweet or not too sweet, that is the question
Too sweet for me, but if she really loves chocolate I think it will be perfect. I'm not a huge cake/icing fan anyway.
Could you maybe make one layer less sweet, like vanilla? Or make a smaller cake that is a non-chocolate flavor as a second option for the guests?
I guess it depends who you ask, right?
IMO - it sounds perfect! lol I personally hate mousse
If you feel that your mom will like it then you did your job - I wouldn't worry if everyone else does. It HER birthday & HER cake
I've been to parties where there was blueberry cheese cake or lemmon cake or a coffee type cake - I hate all of those but the Birthday person Loved them...so it doesn't matter what others think as long as your mom is happy with it!
P.S. I want to see pics after!
