We booked our flights there and back (boo for coming back to cold Wisconsin!), our rental car, and we called our property manager and reserved our condo. Our condo was going for $75 a night so it was a good time for us to go since even if it was rented we wouldn't have been making much. We get there the night of Sept 27 and leave the night of Oct 7th. Renee will you still be off work? Maybe we could meet up one day and have a nestie baby GTG...
We can't wait! Sushi, Thai food, Liliha bakery, shave ice, north shore, waikiki, dukes here we come! Any other suggestions for must eats/do's while we're there? I feel like my mind is going crazy!!
Oh and I take Bella to the dr on the 24th so I'll keep you posted about the sunscreen thing. I hadn't planned on using any, just getting a big umbrella or a little baby tent thing that I saw at BRU.
Re: Flights booked to Hawaii!
YAY! That will be so nice to go back to your place. I'm sure all of your old friends are excited to see y'all and meet Bella.
Ask Bella's ped if she can use zinc oxide. Ocean Potion makes a clear zinc oxide. It comes in a little pot that says it's for faces, but I've used it all over my face, neck, chest, shoulders, stomach and back. Works great. Stays on. It doesn't seem like it would have bad things in it. Isn't zinc oxide a physical block? Is the problem with other sunscreens on babies b/c they are a chemical block? Zinc oxide is an ingredient in several diaper rash creams... so, you'd think if you could put it THERE, it would be safe on less delicate areas.
Can we get a special $75 nestie rate? You could keep the place booked with all of us!
Have a wonderful trip! A *** hou.

I don't know why the nest thought that was a bad word, so I'll squish it together = ahuihou.
I just read your earlier post. My advice for traveling with a little one...
1) Bring a stroller to keep everything together and check it at the gate
2) Be prepared to have weird security check of your baby
3) Know that they will inspect all liquids... if you pump and have bottles pre-made, you may have to pull them out of your bag. Security is a pain. Also, bottles are difficult to get warm. Flight attendants will not heat them... although they will bring your hot water to float your bottle in to warm it. That said, I would still have 2 bottles handy... just in case. Who knows what could possibly happen, but better to be prepared.
4) Most airlines do NOT have a changing table. One airline does (can't remember which). It folds down over the toilet. Some airlines will let you change your baby in the flight attendants' area in the back of the plane. If not either of those, guess what? If you have a poopy baby, you get to change her right there! I'm sure your seatmates will be thrilled. Make sure to pack extra wipes, extra dipes and lots of zip loc bags to store everything. Sorry environment... but, close quarters call for some ziplocs. Also, bring hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes for the tray tables.
5) I hope her ears do well. My daughter has always had a problem with landing. You can BF, use a binky, massage her head... but, I don't know how to eliminate her discomfort completely.
If I think of anything else, I'll add it. I hope that helps.
