I got a lay off notice today...looks like I'm good through the 25th. Talk about ebing blindsided! The city is about to go through lay offs again, and I knew I was in the clear...but mine isnt because of the budget-that's why it was out of no where. Its because of bad management, to put it as nicely as possible.
I'm trying VERY hard to not be too negative about it, but it doesn't look hopeful. My boss says it is possible that they can bring me on part time after the 25th, and then if another contract comes through I could possibly go back to full time sometime in late October. I think that those are possiblities, but not great odds as far as them working out. Again, Im trying to be positive, but I know the efforts of those above me and what they push for the most...that's why I'm not hopeful about those options!
Too bad I JUST signed my lease and moved in last week (from staying with my friends all summer since me and DH split!)...talk about bad timing!!
In the meantime, I'm on the look out!! I've got a bachelors degree, and can do just about anything! ![]()
Re: laid off
I'm so sorry, Missy!
I don't know of any jobs to tell you about, but I will keep you in my prayers that you find something soon.

Sorry to hear about that. Try and stay positive and know that a lay off isn't always the end of the world (although it feels like it) My DH was laid off and actually found a better paying job in less than 45 days. So it can be done.
Start filing out unemployment paperwork now, it takes forever for that stuff to come through.
