Owner of Ambar shot last night
Re: Owner of Ambar shot last night
I saw that someone got shot over the weekend. I didn't realize it was the owner.
That being said, anyone know if the are still open for business because we are suppose to have our book club meeting there in 2 weeks.

Do you know something we don't? I'm on that street and in that area all the time - and as a 17-yr resident of Clifton, I've never had a problem down there and can only name one other incident that occurred. I'm hoping this was an isolated thing.
Agree with nota. IMO Ludlow/gaslight district is one of the nicest and coziest parts of Clifton. The fact that non-college students live in the area speaks to its charm. I never felt unsafe walking around there which is why this story is so shocking to me.

See, I'm a little confused. DH and I heard that on the news and we were really upset because the guy that owns them lives across the street from us. He also owns the one in Oakley.
But we saw him yesterday and he looked just fine. So maybe he's a manager or something, but I could have sworn he was the owner.
From what police said, this is an isolated incident. THe suspect/victim knew eachother, he walked up to him in his car and just shot him in the face. Luckily his head was turned to the side, so the bullet just went through the nose and not actually into his brain. Nothing was taken, he was not robbed, etc.
It still is very unfortunate of course, but I don't think people should be scared to be out in Clifton.

I personally think that the shooting has a personal undertone to it. He was shot in the face and then again at close range.
As for the area being unsafe. Do you even frequent this area? I have been going to the shops and restaurants there since I was in high school. I have never felt unsafe. Making a very educated guess, but you don't frequent the metro area very often. If that is the case, don't make assumptions about things you don't know anything about!
