it's my birthday week (warning: stupid rant ahead)
but unlike every other year, i'm not excited. we're super duper broke and i'm trying to downplay it so that the hub doesn't feel bad about not being able to do anything special this year. but he's not easily fooled - he totally knows i love my birthday and he's trying to make me feel all special and stuff, even though i keep trying to tell him it's no big deal. he's such a good guy.
but it is, dammit! i am such a birthday princess, but this year i can't afford to be. 
damn economy. i try to put a brave face on and a positive spin on things, but truthfully, this sucks ass.

Sorry that stinks! I think almost everyone is going through shades of that. My birthday is probably going to be low-key this year, too. Good news is bow-chick-a-bow-bow is always FREE!

As a fellow birthday princess and September baby I can definitely feel your pain. I was sure my birthday this year was going to suck but it turned out to be awesome. I'm sure yours will too and if it makes you feel any better I got no bowchicka nothing on my birthday so at least you'll for sure have that!
I think your DH will find a way to make you feel special despite the bad economy.

Am I the only one who really doesn't care about birthdays? I mean, I did when I was little, but once I hit my late teens, I didn't anymore.

I'm not a big person really either. MH made a big deal of it this past year but I can't remember a time before this year that we did anything besides go out for dinner.
Wan, you are a Disneyland fan....you get in for free on your birthday and the bean is free anyways....people stop you all day long and wish you happy birthday.
