Mommies: GTG hospitals

What hosptial did you deliver at or are choosing to deliver at and why?

I have heard amazing things about Marhkam stoffville, anyone else?

Re: Mommies: GTG hospitals

  • I'm in the north end of TO, not quite GTA, but I delivered at North York General because it's the closest one to my home. The maternity ward is fairly new and the rooms are quite nice. All of the delivery suites have Jacuzzi tubs for pain management; I was so sad that I didn't get to use it.

We're going with Markham Soufville..it's a newer and way better (from those I've talked to) prenatal unit then the Ajax/Pickering Hospital.

We visited my friend in March and she had a private room (where she delivered in) and it was fairly nice [for a hospital] LOL it was BIG and lots of room. They also have the Jacuzzi Tubs.

Here is a pic of my cousin joking in one of the TUBS while is GF was in labour - this was also at North York General Hospital: http://tinyurl.com/l5mnkk

  • I have heard great things about the Mkhm/Stvl hospital and I know that a midwife office has priviledge to work there (a friend of mine from Oshawa is delivering there in January bc her midwife only works there). I delivered at Port Perry, and highly recommend it there. I don't know if midwifes work there, but I found the doctors there are just amazing, as are the nurses. I was able to switch my family doctor in Oshawa to my OB afterwards, and get the whole family on with her (TIm's doc retired a long time ago, so he didn't have one, and mine retired 1 yr after I had Noah... so I'm glad I got on with her).

if you have any Qs about PP, let me know. again... super highly recommened!
