Favorite PS3 games?

Besides Guitar Hero...I've heard Fat Princess is fun, but haven't played it. What are your favs?

Re: Favorite PS3 games?

  • Fat Princess is a lot of fun.

We have Little Big Planet, which looks cool, but I haven't played yet.

I give Yes to both of these. I like Little Big Planet because DH and I can play together and it has shorter levels. We can play one or two and not have spent hours playing.

Fat Princess is super fun. I love running around and building stuff and killing the other players. You can play online but it's fun alone too.

  • I love the lego games as well as NCAA football.  Infamous is pretty cool.  Assassin's Creed got old fast but I still play it every once in awhile.

  • The hubs & I played Little Big Planet at my aunts' house last Christmas, and it's such a unique game we seriously debated getting a PS3 solely for that game.  The ragdoll mechanics are really well-done, and the customizing bit can help sway 'non-gamers' to play along.

    Ratchet and Clank are fun.

I'm hoping that Sucker Punch will release a new Sly Cooper game.

  • Little Big Planet is fun to play with someone.  We will break out Buzz Time Trivia when we have company.  Civilization is good fun too.
  • I love Ratchet and Clank: Future.  It was one of the first games I played and I love the gameplay and comic nature of it.  It has a downloadable sequel called Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty and will have another disc-based sequel later this year.

Resistance: Fall of Man is a great first-person shooter.  The storyline is very unique and captivating, and of course gameplay is wonderful.  I've heard great things about the online multiplayer, but haven't tried it too much.

As has already been stated, Little Big Planet is a great multiplayer game, both for online multiplayer and in-the-same-room multiplayer.  It's easy to pick up and play no matter what your gaming skill is.

For a good racing game, I like Burnout Paradise.  I wish it had better multiplayer, similar to the older Burnout games, but it's pretty good nonetheless.

If you haven't tried it yet, play Fallout 3.  It's a first-person shooter/role-playing game, and has tons of replayability.  The story is captivating and the gameplay is very in-depth.

Those are just disc-based games.  Downloadable games would take an entire post of their own.  Maybe later...

  • Rock Band. (JK Wink)

I like Little Big Planet as well.  We got Folklore when we first got the PS3, and I had some fun with that one.

DH and I have beat the Resistance campaign about 3 times playing co op. We were so mad that Resistance 2 only has co op online Sad

  • I'm vision impaired, so video games are tough for me. I do watch DH play a lot of games though. His faves on the PS3 are Metal Gear Solid 4, and Resistance/Resistance 2. He mostly plays on the 360.

As a note on MGS4 - that game is like a friggin' movie! The cut-scenes are ridiculously long and just when you think you've made it to the end, you haven't.

  • We love, love, love Little Big Planet!  We bought a copy for our machine at work, and my officemate and I would play after lunch every day.  Even when we were just goofing around with the costumes, the stickers, and slapping/dragging each other around, we had a blast!  DH and I borrowed it and brought it home a few times and then decided to shell out the $80 (yes, $80!) to buy our own copy here, because we didn't want to wait for our next trip to the US.  We also borrowed the 2 controllers from work a few times so that we could play 4-player with friends over the weekend.

Guitar Hero World Tour is our chosen band platform.  The drum set is really nice (and can apparently be hooked to a MIDI input if you actually have drumming talent and musical inclinations).  However, despite all the compatibility claims, we've had trouble getting the Rock Band games to recognize the Guitar Hero drums and mic.

And while we don't have it yet, my friends are getting me LEGO Indiana Jones for my birthday, because I love it on their XBox360.  We've had trouble finding good 2-player co-op games, and it's funny and lighthearted (plus I love Indy)!

If you can't tell, I'm not a big fan of first person shooters.  I know... some geek I am!  Hehe!

  • I love Burnout! It's a great way to get rid of some road rage!

Is Fat Princess two players on the same console? If so that's cool.. maybe the hubby and I will try it out.

Alas, Fat Princess is not in-the-same-room multiplayer.  Your choices in game are "Play With Others" (online multiplayer) and "Play With Yourself" (exactly what you think).  I'd still say it's worth it though.
