When my cousin was pregnant for her little girl I fell in love with and bought her this little purple tutu and a t-shirt that says "Tiara's make you taller" She only ever put it on her baby once and that was when I was there for about ten seconds. She said that she would give it to me when I had a daughter. She followed through and gave it to me at my baby shower. Scarlett has worn the tutu a couple of times (the one in her one month portrait) and she wears the t-shirt all the time.
Currently my cousin's brother's wife (are you still with me) is pregnant and they just found out it was a girl and my cousin suggested that I give her the outfit, kind of make a tradition. I think it's a great idea and it's normally the kind of thing I would go for BUT I really don't want to! I don't even really ever think of this outfit as a hand-me-down cause it was never really worn before my little one. I have plans for it too. I am going to be making a keepsake quilt for Scarlett's big girl bed out of my favorite outfits of hers from her first year growing up. So I am thinking, screw starting a new tradition I am keeping it for me.
Would my cousin's wife ever use it? It's doubtful!
