On September 5, we finally agreed to a price with the guy who owns the lot that we want to but (the Saturday of Labour Day weekend). We haven't heard anything from him or his lawyer since then, so we have been trying to contact him. So, the dude with the lot hasn't called us back for 3 days (despite 3 phone calls to him). Now I am getting nervous - I hope he isn't having second thoughts about selling us the lot.
I am *hoping* that the guy is just a PITA and hasn't gotten around to calling us back, and the lawyer is dragging his feet which is why we haven't heard anything from the lawyer but I am so stressed and nervous now. I wish the guy would just call back, like any normal, courteous person would do if someone calls them 3 times (especially if when you actually got a hold of him on the first call and he said he would call back in an HOUR on Sunday).
Ugh. How stressful. We really really really want this lot. And we don't want any more delays so we can break ground ASAP.
Now - DH just called. He called the guy and it went right to voicemail. He called the guy's lawyer, and he doesn't know anything about the transaction. This is not good. DH was going to call the guy's office, and see if he can get a hold of him that way. If you don't want to sell us the lot for the agreed on price (and he DID agree to the price, and the guy seemed excited to have reached an agreement), then have the courtesy to call us back so we can make alternative plans. I am totally freaking out now.
DH just called. He left a message at the guy's office. I hope he calls back finally. I feel sick. I have a really bad feeling.
Re: Freaking out.
Remind me never to build a house...
It seems so stressful.
