I have a Think Pad at home. It had been doing really well, but now when I go to clean it, using the disk sweep, the computer shuts it self off, or freezes. I've been trying this for 2 weeks now. I've used 3 different malware programs and they all show my computer is clean of viruses, but I think if I "sweep" the junk out it would be a happier computer. Any ideas for me?

Re: Computer Cleaning ?
If nothing seems to be working to clean your computer, the best solution might be for you to simply back up all of your data and then reinstall your operating system.
I know of plenty of people who reinstall Windows every few years just to clear out the junk and go back to basics. Then you can just reload all of your personal data back on, reinstall the programs you use, and go back to normal. You have some hassle getting your settings back to the way they were before, but it can't be that much more hassle than what you're going through now.
