Are you guys really busy this week? The board has been so slow this week. What's going on with everyone?
Re: Why's it sooo slow?
I've noticed it's been slow also. We've been busy but I've had time to look arounnd here and it's quiet.
How are you?
I've been down at my parents' house and now I'm back home.
How are you feeling these days, Ali?
I'm doing well. Two of my math classes took tests today, and I am sitting here grading them. I am convinced that they do not study (or read directions) - at all. The scores are ridiculous.
I am trying to decide whether to be the nice teacher, and let them retake the parts they did really bad on, or if I should be the mean teacher, give them a "come-to-Jesus" talk about studying, and let these scores be a lesson to them. Hmmm... decisions, decisions.
This week has been much better, and I am hoping it continues to get better. The heartburn is killer, but the nausea has gone from everyday to every other day or so. Thanks for asking!
Any updates on your brother? I am thinking about your family! I hope everything is ok.
I've been busy with school and work but I still pop in daily.
Ali, quit suffering and go get the Prilosec! And give your students a second chance. But tell them you won't always be that nice.
I got the Prilosec yesterday, it seems to be helping, but it may just take a couple of days of taking it for it to go away.
I am in the midst of making another test for them to do for some more points. If they would have just read the directions, there would not have been any problems. We're going to have a talk about reading directions tomorrow.
Yeah, I think the box does say it can take up to 4 days to start working. Hopefully it starts sooner for you!
Cause I'm not here being my usual PW self
I miss having a job where I could play on the nest. But with the way things are at work it looks like I might not be there long anyways. Ok I digress...
What on earth is a come-to-Jesus speech? I have never heard of this.
"A time when a polite ultimatum is given, generally followed by a less polite ultimatum, then a threat. "
That's the "definition" I found online. It's basically, telling them like it is, and not taking any BS.
I've actually been home sick, but unfortunately I haven't had much to talk about. After trying to get a freaking doctor's appointment since Monday I finally sucked it up and went to Lake After Hours. I had an appointment tomorrow afternoon, but I really didn't think I could wait that long.
Ali, I think you should let the bad grades be a lesson and give them a come-to-Jesus speech. Then you can have an extra test for extra points to help make it up. I think that's being lenient with them still suffering some of the consequences.
I love you so much, Belle.
