Please include my brother in your thoughts and prayers. I mentioned the other day that he was diagnosed with swine flu. He's been running very high fevers at night and his fiance' brought him to the emergency room once, but brought him back a second time this evening. He was just admitted to the hospital with viral pneumonia. From what I'm reading, that's not good.
I'm headed back to Alexandria tomorrow morning but dropping my mom off in Lafayette to be with them along the way. Unfortunately I can't even go in to see them, I'll probably help my mom find them, since she's legally blind (as are my brother and his fiance' - they met at the school for the blind) but I will have to part ways without getting near them since I can't risk infection with my prior heart problems and Elise being so young.
Anyway, we'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Re: Prayers Needed, Please
Awe, Your brother is definately in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated if you can.
I'm so sorry! That has to be scary!
My mom got swine flu too, and her doctor had to give her a crazy drug cocktail since apparently her asthma can make the virus worse.
She's ok now though...but oh man, I was scared too!
You guys are in my prayers!

I am sorry to hear this Christen. Since your brother already had H1N1, he was more susceptible to getting pneumonia, and pneumonia is more severe when accompanied with the flu.
I was hospitalized a few years ago because of something similar. Once the IV fluids start, IV antibiotics, and all of the other stuff starts, it's amazing how quick the turnaround can be. I just wanted to share my story with you because I made it out fine. I will definitely be thinking about him, and hoping that everything goes smoothly, and he gets better quickly.
I know it is probably hard not to want to go to the hospital, but you're doing the right thing, just keep telling yourself you're doing the right thing for your baby and your family. It's hard to not go to the hospital, but you're doing it for the right reasons.
I hope he is better soon! I will make sure to say a little prayer for him.
