My friend had twin girls a few years ago and I was trying to think of the organisation she found to be a good resource.
I think this is it: http://www.amba.org.au/index.php
Also, I've been researching prams (strollers for our North Americans here) and have manhandled this particular one.

It turns into a single pram for when Maya gets too big and wants to walk instead of sitting in the pram. It seems to be the best option (for me anyway...we don't drive at the mo). Most double or tandem prams are heavy/too wide/hard to navigate around things like supermarket aisles or through doors etc.
This one is super light and actually smaller than my current single pram. The downside is that it's not the cheapest out there by far and the 'added extras' are not cheap either grrrrrr.
I was looking at the twin pram for you and thought this might suit you better?

Re: Lisa With The Two Babehs
Well, the thing with this side-by-side is that the seats are a little narrower than your standard pram seats but it doesn't seem too bad. I don't think your babehs are gonna notice that they've been duped out of that extra 2 cm's or so lol. I've seen it in person and it's pretty lightweight and folds down super flat.
Here's a list of stockists for you. I hope there's one near you http://www.philandteds.com/stockists_08_1.htm
I just did another search for twin strollers and am actually reconsidering the Phil and Ted stroller I was initially leaning towards. These look really good and have recieved great reviews:

Here's a list of twin/double/triple strollers available in Aus. It's a pretty handy list as it gives specs and prices etc in one quick look

I got the link from this site http://www.thinktwins.com.au/catalog839909/index.php
Sorry for all the links. These particular links above will come in handy so pop it in your favourites to look at later if ya want!
Yeah, that's one of the points I was thinking about during my 'troubleshooting' on choosing a tandem vs side-by-side. Interesting...I'll have to ask my friends with the twin girls about what they think of their side-by-side and will let ya know.
One thing that is making me lean towards one of the side-by-sides above is the fact that whoever is in the lower seat (referring to the Phil And Ted Dash pram here now) won't be able to recline and sleep. I know that I get Maya to sleep a LOT in her pram and I'm wondering what I will do when I'm out and about with the two of them in the pram and either younger child wants to sleep or both want to sleep. I wouldn't have this prob with one of the side-by-sides as both seats recline.
What works against the side-by-sides is that they are wider. For someone like me, who relies on public transport to get around, this could prove troublesome.
Argghhhh, decisions.
I guess, with you, it comes down to what you need most from the pram you eventually buy. You drive, so you won't be using it AS much. When do you see yourself using it the most? I'm thinking that you'll use it most to go on walks and to get around the mall/shopping and the like?
I'd be curious to know how other mums, with the tandems, experience them. Does the child being put in the back seat usually complain etc. Might be worth visiting a couple of parenting forums and asking.
Heh, we have the same list of pros and cons - wider vs narrower (someone told me that the wider ones often don't fit through the checkout lanes at Wooly's and Coles - not sure if this is true for all stores or just the one they go to), the reclining issue, etc.
Pretty much for walking, shopping, that sort of thing. I doubt I'll need to use it on public transport much (if ever).
I'm going to ask on the Multiples board and see what they say - they may have different points of view on some things (like the checkout lanes, since American aisles and doors are generally wider than Aussie ones [insert standard Aussie fat American joke here, yadda yadda]).
Yeah, reviews and recs from mamas who've buyed-and-tried are the best way to go!
I've decided not to go with the Phil and Ted pram based on some reviews I read last night that outlined the points I was concerned about when I was looking at the pram.
There are a couple of new front-runners for me now, re prams. Think I'm gonna go with a side-by-side. The Baby Jogger prams look good and have received good reviews. Eyeing off the Baby Jogger City Elite http://www.bjstrollers.com.au/elite.html . Pricey though
A couple of things that are I've found are important (to me anyway) re. prams are:
Storage capacity: is there ample room to stow stuff under the pram ie childs stuff/shopping bags etc.
Also, I never go anywhere without hanging my nappy bag off the handlebar of the pram so the pram needs to be able to sturdily hold a nappy bag. That's one area with the Phil and Ted pram that scored a 'fail'.
'Sleepability': Babeh/toddler should be able to sleep quite comfortably in it, with shade/weather protection. Babes sleep a lot in prams, when you're out and about. That's also where prams are superior to cars in getting an irritable baby to sleep (during the day at least)...you can leave them in pram when you eventually come home (must stress that you gotta keep a close eye on them whilst they're in pram and make sure pram can't tip over on it's own etc).
Must be able to take a beating (a-walkin'): I walk a lot...everywhere. Especially when I'm in 'must-lose-post-babeh-weight' mode. Pram better be up for that! Haha.
In my internet trawlings, the ABC buggy prams look great for twins but ahem @ $$$-factor, damn!
