What a lovely morning

Boo cold rain!  At least I know I'll be inside most of the day.

H and I went to Le Bec-Fin last night and it was amazing!  We can't wait to go back again on a non-RW day.  The food was really understated and simple, but delicious.

I have a bad feeling our hot water heater is going to die soon.  It took forever for it to get hot this morning and I had to jack it up to get anything close to warm.  Ugh....the joys of home ownership.

Re: What a lovely morning

  • Izzy I've been wanting to go there, but never made it. I'm glad you liked it!

I am not looking forward to this rain. I have a work related event that I should be dressed up for tonight. It's difficult to get a pre-pregnancy dress over this basketball middle section. (But tonight is not worthy of a purchase I wouldn't get use out of.) Now the weather decreases my options of appropriate clothing even further.

Aside from the weather life is good. :)

  • Uggh...isn't it always something with a house...our hot water heater went 3 weeks back...thank dog my fiancee's cousin is a plumber  b/c we only had to pay for the unit but it was still unexpected.

We had a long night...we came home to our trash can emptied all over the house and then realized that our dog ate a corn on the cob (the whole thing) b/c we couldn't find it.  So of course I googled it and found that it can cause a blockage so we were worried all night.  Then we had to check his poop to see if he passed it....real fun at 4:30 in the morning!!  I'm gonna call the vet today just to check what we should be watching for.

I can't believe it's thursday already, I hope all the work weeks go this fast!!!

  • I just can't wait to get thru today... after the gym tonight, I'm looking forward to a relaxing night with my H, who I haven't seen in a few days, and watching my co-worker on the new season of Survivor! Woohoo :)
  • Izzy - I went to Le Bec Fin a few months ago and thought the same thing. I really liked it! We went to Zahav Mon night - it was really good and different.

I'm going to a friend's house for lunch today, then finishing up laundry. I have to find a recipe for the rack of lamb I have for dinner tonight...

  • I wouldn't worry two much about the corn.  Oscar ate essentially an entire bag of frozen corn when he was a puppy.  He didn't really poop for two days and then the flood gates opened and he was fine.

  • The stuff my dog eats would have be bankrupt if I called my vet everytime.  This week alone she has scored makeup, cough drops, handmade soaps, 2 shoe laces, some undies, and a fortune from a fortune cookie.  Dogs stomachs breakdown food alot faster than humans.
  • Which dog is this? Is this typical of the breed?

My monster dog has eaten ears of corn, stuffed animals (so has my cat - weird, I know), and an entire ham bone... I kid you not.

  • It's my basset hound.  She has a nose that gets her in more trouble than she knows what to do with.  We just consider her special.  I have tried everything, bought her a bazillion toys, busy bones, exercise, etc, she just likes getting into trouble.
