Any info you can send me on anything would be great. I know that is really broad, but they've just started planning this out. They were engaged a couple of days after Cate was born and they are getting married this May so only 9 months.

I did my entire wedding for under 8K, but so many of the vendors that I used and loved don't do their thing anymore so we're completely back at square 1. Thank you!!!!

Re: **Ali**

  • Keep in mind I got married 2.5 years ago, so the prices may have gone up a little, but here is what I did:

Reception: The Woman's Club (East Blvd in downtown BR) - it was $1000 to rent, it included 8 hours, table chairs, centerpieces if you wanted them, security, parking, a coordinator, and some other things. It is a really pretty building too. The room can be set-up for a ceremony first, and changed to a reception if they wanted to do it in the same place.

Caterer: Bayou Bistro - they're in Brusly, and I recently looked up the prices and they're still cheap for catering. Including alcohol, tax, and tip, we paid less than $22/head, and that was with the middle package. The food is very good too.

Photography: I used Old South Photography. Beautiful pictures, but they were a brand new company. It's a husband wife team. The prices have doubled since I used them, so I am sure there are better deals out there.

Flowers: The Cut Flower. He is very easy to work with, and make beautiful stuff that works with every budget (even my teeny-tiny one). I made all of my own centerpieces. The big flower arrangement at the church was moved after the ceremony, and put on the food table at the reception. We saved $500 doing this.

Cake: you saw my info about the cake, but it was Creative Cakes by Vickie, and it was fabulous.

I made my own programs, I got invitation kits from Michael's (and spent about $60 on 200 invites). The invites got lots of compliments too, no one could believe that I made them, they were super easy and looked professional.

That's everything I can think of off the top of my head, hopefully it helps a little. =)

  • Any kind of information that we can go off of helps so thank you! That's why I'm having trouble remembering things b/c it's been 3 1/2 years since I got married and my memory isn't so hot.
