Remote Control went AWOL!

Ok, H and I have turned our house upside down trying to find our stupid remote control! We have been looking for 3 days!

I have come to this conclusion- I hope I am wrong.

Monday night some neighborhood kids wanted to come play with our puppies. We have had them over to play with the puppies on several occasions. Tuesday- remote is missing. We have looked EVERYWHERE- our gym, we checked our cars, bathrooms, fridge, freezer, garage, closets, A/C cabinet, spare room, office, kitchen- drawers, cabinets, etc... and it is nowhere to be found. It was a cool remote- at the time it cost $250- I found it online for $120 now, lol.

BUT the kids had a new friend with them, and we think that maybe on their way out they snagged it off the ottoman. We usually keep it on the ottoman- and I normally watch them the entire way out the door- but H was with them this time so he wasn't quite as vigilant- he just watched them go inside the house from the backyard.

We are trying to figure out what to do- go confront the kids, their parents, and ask if they can keep an eye out for a remote that is not familiar, or just let it go and hope we find the remote. Any advice would be fabulous! :)

Re: Remote Control went AWOL!

  • Can I get a link for the remote? I've never seen a remote that costs that. I am curious as to what it does.

As for the kids. I say confont their parents and let them know. It's the only thing you can do. If it was them (or him) then I'm sure the parents would like to know to punish accordingly. If not, just apologize.

  • Yeah, the remote is a bit over the top... it has pictures on it for very easy use with multiple systems. I can click "Watch TV" and it changes the settings on the stereo, Cable box, TV, etc... to the right settings. Same for the video game systems, Stereo, etc... I got it for my H because he REALLY wanted it for Christmas last year, lol.

Thanks for the tips- I think I will talk to the parents to just ask them to keep an eye out for a remote that isn't familiar to them.

Here is the remote on Amazon:

  • Wow. That's quite snazzy looking.
  • Lol- yeah, I press "Watch TV" and it changes the settings on my TV, stereo, cable box, etc... to the appropriate settings. Same with "Watch DVD", "Play PS3", Play Wii, etc...

I basically can't watch TV without it. He has the system in such a configuration that everything has to be on a different settings- it is quite the PITA! Oh well... he'll just have to teach me how it works or write it down or something ,lol!
