A bookshelf fell on me!
OK, it's not as bad as it sounds but it was REALLY scary and I need to whine about it.
I was at work, and stood on a chair to put some stuff away in a bookshelf that is mounted on the wall. This shelf was already crammed with a lot of stuff (books) and suddenly, I see the shelf coming towards me and next thing I know, I'm on the floor covered in thesis'! (I work at a University)
I'm VERY lucky because I was standing between a counter and a table so the shelf landed on that rather than on my back.
I've got a sore elbow (I must've landed on it) and my lower back is sore at the side (not any of my bones though), and I've got a small bump on my head. I'm really hoping to just get off with bruises and nothing more... The fact that a part of my back hurts worries me a bit.
The scarier thing is, there was a student at the table, inches from where the shelf fell. If she had been sitting one seat over... I don't even want to think of what could have happened to her!
There were so many "what if's" in what happened today, I'm kind of a jumble of emotions... That's all. Just needed to whine

Yeah, I called Worksafe this morning but can't see my doctor until tomorrow. The lady in my office documented it and everything. I just hope it's not like a car accident where other symptoms come out later...
