Dayton Ladies: Where did you get your dress cleaned?

I'm horrible, and my dress is still hanging uncleaned from our 08/08/08 in my parent's closet. Yikes! I need any good rec's/advice you have.

Re: Dayton Ladies: Where did you get your dress cleaned?

  • Mine's in a trash bag in our spare closet and we got married almost a year before you!Embarrassed

I would check out Fox, Heider, or Widmer's.  I think they have good reputations in town-however I almost never go to the drycleaner.  I used Fox for some doctoral gowns we have at the office and they did a good job.  The Widmer's in Dayton might be just alterations/tailoring though.

  • I took my dress to Heider Cleaners in Kettering. They did a fantastic job. My dress had a lot of dirt on it and I didn't take it to the cleanrs until about 9 months after my wedding. They had no problems getting everything out. I highly recommend them!
  • I had mine cleaned & preserved at Heider's. They did a great job. It's now in box in my closet.

  • I went to Heider cleaners as well - they're great.  My DH's cousin actually wanted to wear my veil for her wedding last year.  After her wedding they were able to clean it and put it back in my box just like new!
  • Thanks so much ladies- do you buy any chance know a ball park of their charges?

I really appreciate all of the help and postive thoughts this board contains- I feel blessed (especially when I lurk else where).

  • I believe the dress cleaning was around $80 and preservation was about $100. It's been over a year, so I might be a little off on my prices.
  • So $180 all together?  I cant' see keeping mine (if anything I'll have a baptismal gown made from it) so I might just skip the boxing.
