Good morning ladies :)

How is everyone this Monday morning?  What do you have on your "to do" list for the day?

I have no motivation and am really tired.  Doesn't help its crappy and rainy outside.  I need to get to the gym, finish my stats test, prep my grad class, make lasagna for tonight, clean this house, set up my bill pay online (since I've switched to our joint account), and a couple of phone calls/emails regarding work.  Ugh.  I'm more exhausted now that I listed it all out.  I feel like the gym isn't going to happen.  I've been having a really tough time finding the energy and desire to get there since I've been working.  Then I feel all guilty.

Re: Good morning ladies :)

  • Morning! Your day sounds quite busy. I can't blame you at all for ditching the gym (as I've ditched it for three months). :)

Today's agenda: Um, I don't have one. Maybe grocery shopping later and meal planning. Giving myself a mani and pedi. Finishing my 101 things in 1001 days list. Busy busy. :/

  • It does sound like you have a lot going on, cruella. Good luck with getting it all done!

I'm feeling completely unmotivated at work today because I just went to the bathroom and saw that my face still looks like I got into a fight with several cats from the microdermabrasion I got on Saturday. I've had microderm before with great results (not even red immediately after the treatment), but I went to a different place that was cheaper and now I'm paying the price. I called them this morning so I'll be going over lunch to have them see what they can do to fix this. Probably nothing. I'm so pi**ed off.

  • vhcoleman - curious (because I've been contemplating it) -- why do you get micoderm done?

  • Good Morning! That's quite the list cruella. I like what you have going on mamie.

I am working from home today. "Working" apparently includes TN & FB. I am usually much more disciplined than this. I'm working from home because I have an interview at 2:30 est today. So positive vibes please! If I get this job, it would cut my 1 hour and 15 min. commute to 15 minutes!!! It also is working with kids and is much more what I want to be doing. So here's to hoping it comes through.

After working and the interview, I'll be going grocery shopping, to the bank and then DH & I are having dinner with my mom.

     Have a great day ladies!

  • Crap, sorry about that blank post. Mamie, I originally got it done by the woman who did my wedding make-up at a salon/spa. She told me at my make up trial that it would give me this amazing glow. I was skeptical, so she gave me a 2-for-1 deal so I could try it out and see the results prior to doing it right before the wedding. She was right. My skin had never looked so good. Lately my skin has been a bit dull so I thought I'd give microderm a try again. But at $100 a pop, it's not cheap. So I found another day spa in town that does it for $60. She totally effed my face up.

  •  Mamie - can we switch days?

Victoria - sorry about the bad results, that really sucks.  The embarrassment you feel going into high school with a huge zit (or some other conditions that affects your face) never really goes away as we get older.

    mb&d - good luck!

  • cru - Sure! I'm actually getting sick of my boring days. It only took 4 months. :/

vhcoleman - thanks! I'm sorry you had a bad experience. :( I've been thinking about it to fade old acne scarring, but every time I think of it I get the vision of Samantha from SATC after she gets the chemical peel.

mb&d - good luck! Wow, it's the day for Nestie interviews.

  • BTW, are you posting your lasagna recipe?  I need a good one.

I had the EXACT same thought of Samantha after seeing my face right after the microderm. It wasn't that bad, but it's not good either.

  • Oh, and Mamie, I'd still recommend microderm. Just go to someone that you know is reputable or that you've gotten recommendations for.

  • you do have a busy day... mine is fairly boring... took a nursing test this morning and work at 2 this afternoon. Hope you van get it all done!

I have an eggplant one posted already, and the one I'll do tonight will likely be a bastardized version of it.  The one tonight is going to be more of an experiment, so I'll only post if it turns out ok. We opened up a package of sausage (not in casings) to make a dish on Saturday, but have 1/2 the sausage left.  I have to figure out someway to cook it, and I thought I'd try a sausage lasagna, subbing the sausage for ground beef.  I'll probably tweak the spices a little, use some fennel and sage instead of basil and oregeno.  ehh - we'll see how it comes out.

  • Sounds delicious! I'll look for the eggplant one. I love eggplant lasagna.

  • I am impressed that going to the gym is even ON your to-do list. I have had absolutely no workout motivation since the wedding. We are trying to save money and get back on track with our finances, and so I dropped the gym membership. MBA classes are starting up again next week so things will get even busier.

Today I'm at work, goofing around on TK and not doing anything productive. The market has been slow so we don't have a lot of trades going off, and clients don't call much on Monday mornings.  After work, cooking dinner (pepper steak and mashed potatoes) and then going over to watch Gossip Girl with a friend. Excting, no?

Just because its on the list doesn't mean it'll get done :)

Where do you work?  I only ask because my husband works at CME, where they do lots of trading (well, CBOT really, but they are merged now).

  • I look like an extra from a horror movie right now because my face and eyes are swollen so I can't really get anything accomplished outside the house :(

I did take the kids to the playground this am before anyone could see me! other than that, I've cleaned the house, colored and done play-doh for about 3 hours :)

Doing laundry now...trying to keep myself busy! Isn't that ironic! ?

have you tried taking some benedryl?  Your face is swollen because of an allergic reaction to zyrtec, right?  Hope you look and feel better soon.

  • I'm all over the benadryl, thanks Cru! :)

I have to keep a stash of it on hand as I never know what I will be allergic to, AGH!!!

Mamie-I thought it was because it was my first 'season change' in a different state, but my allergies have never been this bad before either.?
