Why I hate going home update

Basically, H and I sat down this morning and had a discussion, and we've decided that going home from now on is going to be on a strictly family only basis haha... Between the clusterfuuck that was Friday night (and then again yesterday), I think this will just make it easier on us and we won't have to worry about seeing groups of people we can no longer stand lol...

Of course, small towns, we'll still see people from our HSs... But at least we won't have to hang out with them haha..

Thanks for all of your advice before! It means alot :) It would be funny.. if it didn't make me want to scoop out my eyeballs with a melon baller haha

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.

  • So, uh, not related to your story (good idea btw), but the fact you were at your junior prom at the same time I got my bachelor's degree makes me want to weep in a corner...and knit something. Like a toilet paper cozy. FML.

  • cutest sig pic ever!!!

ps-most hometowns suck and are drama-filled with small-minded people (IMHO), thankfully my DH knows this and tries to avoid his as much as possible! But when we do go, we feel exactly the same way. :)?

  • Thanks Angel :) I just found it today on my hard drive, and I thought it was too cute not to share haha

And Mamie.  I thought we discussed this.  You + me = BFFLS. If you knit, I knit.  Let me know what color that kozy is going to be - I'll make a coordinating one.

  • Aww, Walt, you're like the the pepperoni to my pizza, the cream filling to my oatmeal cookie, the surf to my turf.

Thanks to that endless and omgSAD Dead People Montage at the Emmys, I'm just not myself. p.s. I don't think The Office got any awards. WTF.

  • Late to the game: Stjoe went to prom the year AFTER I got my B.A.

     ***tiptoes out and cries***

  • I think that sounds like a smart idea.

And, if you are all old, I'm a haggard old bitty - I had my masters and had been working for a year when stjoe had her junior prom.

  • Your hometown sounds like a bad movie.

Still, I can't believe you married your HS rival. You should have had a Romeo & Juliette themed wedding. How have you been able to overcome this huge hurdle in your relationship?? It must plague you every day. I mean, it's FOOTBALL!!!

And as to being old and pathetic, I think I win this game. I started my PhD BEFORE Walter's junior prom and I'm still working on it!

  • No problem, ladies. I have enough yarn to share. We could sell our toilet paper kozies on etsy.

  • If it makes you all feel better.. I get carded going to rated R movies. Do you KNOW how sucky it is to be carded like that!?! I forgot my ID one time a few months ago (right after H and I got married) and I got carded and almost turned away until H looks at the crackwhoore taking tickets and goes "well, I'm obviously over 17, so I'm going to let my WIFE see this movie".

It's a running joke that I'm never going to grow up :(
