I read about this "4 month wakeful" period on the bump, where once the baby turns about 4 months, they are up more often, not sleeping through the night and not wanting to take naps in general.
Overall, Brooke is not a good napper. She would rather stay awake and play all day and I think she thinks if she takes a nap, she might miss something exciting. Her saving grace (or my saving grace) is that she has been sleeping through the night since she was around two months.
But ever since she turned 4 months, she's been going down at around midnight and waking up anywhere from 3am-5am. ![]()
Please tell me that this 4 month wakeful is a myth. & if it's not, please share your stories with me and how to get through this phase...
Re: Mommies- 4 month wakeful?
Sorry, but it's not a myth. With my first DD, that time was just miserable. She was up all.the.time. When things finally settled down and went back to normal, she hit developmental milestones and would wake up (rolling over, sitting up, crawling, standing) or she's be teething.
If possible, I'd try to work on her napping b/c I've found that if my DD naps, she sleeps better at night.
I've heard of this (on the The Bump) but we did not experience it. Sean Patrick wasn't any different his fourth month than any other but he was a pretty easy baby overall so maybe he's not the best gauge on "normal."
Is she hungry when she wakes up? Could she be teething?
