What to send to my sister at her new house ??
My sister, whom I'm very close to, and her family are moving to Iowa next month. I'd like to have something delivered to her new address, either on the day they arrive, or the next day, to welcome them.
I have a couple of ideas, but can't decide which is better. Also open to new suggestions.
Here's what I've thought of so far:
flowers
Cincinnati gift basket (maybe better to send once they've been gone for awhile?)
Iowa gift basket
balloon bouquet
I'm leaning toward an Iowa gift basket, but it seems kinda generic. If it helps there are four of them - 2 adults, a 15 yo girl, and an 11 yo girl.
WDYT?
TIA!

Re: What to send to my sister at her new house ??
When we bought our house my B&SIL bought us a door knocker with our last name engraved on it. It was something little but it made me tear up.
I really like pp idea of the door knocker, or maybe you could get one of those address plates for the front of the house. Some say the address or you could do one that says "The XXXXX's est. 19XX".
If you didn't want to do something like that I would send them an ediable arrangement over flowers or a balloon bouquet. I do like the Iowa gift basket, but I'd have a hard time trying to figure out what to put in it.
HTHs.
This!
It's a long term house, but it's a rental, so I'm not sure about the rules on doorknockers, signs & such. I love the idea though. But I don't want to get them something they can't use.
I found a site that has a make-your-own gift basket option, and I might do that, depending on the price. I found some chocolates on there in the shape of ears of corn, so I thought that would be cute to put in there. Not sure on what else.
If I can't manage to do an Iowa gift basket, I'll probably just send a fall arrangement/basket, then maybe send a Cincinnati one for one of the holidays that they're away (they're not sure yet what holidays they'll make it back for).
Thanks for the input!
