Question for the Calgary Moms

We currently have 1 car and I am planning on a GTG with a nestie who is going to be in Cochrane for a few days.  I am sure my H will have the car.  I am comfortable taking DS on the ctrain, so that isn't an issue.  I am just trying to find a good place to meet up with this nestie in the NW that will be easy for her to find/get to, easy to get to w/ transit and is actually a fun for or at least toddler friendly place.  We will have our 15mth olds with us.

Any suggestions?  I was looking at the Crowfoot Crossing website but besides Chapters/Starbucks I didn't really see anything interesting there.  It is going to be late October so I guess it could be snowing :)

TIA!

Re: Question for the Calgary Moms

  • how about the zoo? it has a c-train station, it's not quite in the NW but pretty easy to get there from Cochrane. There are a number of indoor spots at the zoo so you wouldn't have be outside much if it's cold.

You could wander around Kensington (Sunnyside c-train station), but wouldn't be as fun for little kids and it might be cold.

Another option could be one of the Leisure centres (wave pools). I don't know if there are any in the NW, but I think the Southland leisure centre is near a c-train station (sorry, don't know for sure, I didn't take the c-train that often).

  • Liesure centres aren't a bad idea...I have about 800 free passes to Talisman Centre too...
  • The Dalhousie station just before Crowfoot Station has and Earl's, Boston Pizza, and Chapter's/Starbucks right by it. It would probably take you about 5 minutes to walk to them (they are all right beside each other) and closer then the Chapters in Crowfoot would be to the train.
