Thinking about moving to PA. Can anyone giveme some info please

I currently live in NJ.. and we are thinking about moving to PA. We saw some houses that we like in Milford and Dingmans Ferry. We plan on taking a ride to these towns in the next couple weeks to check them out. can anyone recommend towns in PA that are close to the north NJ border, that are nice areas, good schools, good communities etc. Basicaly a great place for me and my husband to raise our 2 boys. thanks so much for any info you can give me!

  • I don't live there but I have a cousin who lives in Milford and he really likes it.  It's a small town (his words not mine) but with close access to NY and NJ.  My aunt always jokes that Milford is the best of all worlds...living in a smaller area but yet they go shopping or out to eat at places in NY/NJ since it's so close.  I know there are occasionally some girls on here who are in the Allentown area as well but I'm not sure if that's close enough to the NJ border for you.
  • oh thank you so much for the info!! yeah allentown is alittle too far burt i like hearing good things about milford!
  • I grew up in the Scranton area, about an hour from the area you're looking at, and as far as schools go, I believe Delaware Valley is the only one in that area.  I'm not saying DV is bad (or good for that matter) I'm just saying it may be your only choice.

And I do love that area.  I love that section of the Delaware River and Milford is an adorable town.
