I know that long term bed rest has a definite negative impact on stamina and energy levels, but was surprised that just three weeks would make such a difference.
I left at 8:15 for an appointment at the hospital and got home around 11:00. I've been trying to finish up some work ever since, but I'm completely drained. I think I need to nap now - lol.
I can't imagine how hard it's going to be if I'm actually allowed back to work in 10 weeks.
In sort of related news, my appointment went really well. Baby is doing great and his estimated weight is almost 2 pounds! I'm doing great too. It seems like the bed rest is definitely working.
Re: My energy level is shot
That's fantastic about the two of you.
Not so great news about your energy levels though. I can imagine that three weeks would be plenty of time for my body to decide that bed rest was a good thing!
Do you find that you are bored?
I have some basic stretches that are just to get blood flowing through the calves to try to ward off blood clots. Pregnancy + bed rest + my thrombolic disorder are not a good combo. But I'm also allowed to get up and walk around the house a bit and am encouraged to do the stairs a couple times a day - also good for the calves.
Bored - ah, yes. Working throughout the day helps, but sometimes it's frustrating too. Like when my boss calls and I'm in dire need of a nap
I'm trying to think of things to do at night and I've got a schedule of visitors for the next couple of weeks, so that's good. The nurse talked a lot today about the risks of depression and made sure I knew that there were extra resources available to me should that become an issue.
