re: "Good Crimes"; the more liberal members of the board seem to be anti-stealing in all instances while the more conservative members of the board are willing to bend the rules depending on circumstances.
Thoughts?

Ok, hold the phone, Donkeys. I never said stealing was ok. Just that in extreme circumstances I understood it. As a conservative, I believe that only I can be responsible for my family. I don't depend upon others to take care of my kids.
Bottom Line: Would I steal to feed my kids as opposed to standing in the food stamp line? No.
The Elephant has spoken. Go in peace.
Although said more eloquently than I would have been able to come up with, this is what I was thinking.

This is a particualrly loaded question due to the economic environment our nation is currently experiencing.
This is exactly what I meant. It's hard to make a judgment call when we don't know the hypothetical circumstances.
MT, I can always depend on you to be the voice of reason.
I wasn't really referring to the stealing for food question with my response. It was more of a general attitude towards life. The stealing for food scenario never really works for me because it's not a reality in our society today. There are countless ways to get your basic needs met.
I was thinking of things like dr assisted suicide in terminal cases. It's not legal, but in some very dire cases, I think it's acceptable. I also agree with both of Shoe's examples.
Sorry, I'll stick to the topic next time.
