Very frustrated

H and I were going to Key West for our friends wedding in December. My friends cancelled the wedding in the Keys (but they are still getting married-long story). I bought travel insurance in case something happened since I booked in April. Well I have looked closer into the policy and it only covers cancellation in case of sickness or death. That just sucks. If I could cancel now, the airline would make a ton of money selling my seats to somebody else for an inflated price. But no. Now I don't know what I am going to do. But definitely hang onto the tickets awhile longer. Sad

Re: Very frustrated

  • Man, that bites! I wish I had a solution for you, I'm sorry.
  • Yeah, that is bad.  It's all about them making more $.
  • Maybe I'm evil but couldnt you fake an illness? I mean how would they know, are they going to ask for a doctors note?

Yes. They send a form to you to have a doctor fill out.
  • We need to find you a doctor to help you out with your *cough cough achoo* sickness
  • I'd still go. I love the keys, we go often and its one of my favorite vacation spots.
  • I'd still go, too!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

Hey, we are broke too, we just save every penny possible and travel every year! :-)

  • I actually wasn't really looking forward to the trip anyway. It's really not our scene. We were going just for our friends and were going to try and make the best of it.
  • Oh, AND...since they are still getting married...they are still planning on the same date so I really should be in town.

Oh no! I would go to the Keys and tell the people "Our gift to you is not losing our money"

True. And I'm sure they would understand that...but I still don't want to go.

I guess sometimes I'm more of a homebody then I realize.

  • do you have a chiropractor? Maybe you could find one who would fill out the form stating that a long flight would be too tough on your back? (even if it is / isn't true)- does it matter what kind of dr?
Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time. Midnight Baking Adventures Blog
  • Can you try selling the tickets on ebay or something? I don't know if that's legal, but maybe worth checking into.

  • Whaaat?! They already sent out invites! I'm sorry, that really sucks.

Maybe go ask the travel board if they have any suggestions?

Seriously I'd be calling or reaching out to anyone I know who is in the medical field.
