Thankfully, the adrenaline kicked in and I didn't notice my cold symptoms until after class when I got to my car...then I felt like death :P
I was actually surprised. Overall, it went well. However, quite a few of them decided to take advantage of the fact that the professor wasn't there and wanted to have a pretty severe vent session. I was actually really surprised how many of the people were enrolled in a 300-level major course that (a) weren't majors, and (b) didn't have a lot of the necessary background/prerequiste work. But, I think I handled them pretty well, and when the prof. actually arrived (she came for the last hour of class), she agreed with everything I'd said to diffuse the situation.
However, feeling sick, I came straight home and went to bed...which wouldn't have been so terrible, but I woke up WIDE AWAKE at 1:30 a.m., and couldn't fall back to sleep...I would just lay on the couch until sleep eventually takes over (and, amusingly, I am uttering a HUGE yawn as I type this), but I actually have to teach MY classes from 8:00-1:00. Oy.
