Halloween!

A poll about the dead seems appropriate, because this board is... well, you get the hint.

1. Are you dressing up this year? If so, what as?

2. What is your favorite costume you've ever had?

BONUS PIP challenge: Pic of you and DH in costume

Re: Halloween!

  • I may not be dressing up this year, not sure yet. I have class all day on the 31st and the 1st, so I may not be up for it. We'll see,.

Last year was the only year that Mike and I have dressed up together. I usually go the $lutty route... nothing too creative, just $lutty. Last year I was Little Red and he was the Big Bad Wolf.

  • Chrissy, I love that M dressed up! My H won't dress up for Halloween (unless it's in camo). ?:(

I usually dress up the same as my daughter (last year we were pirates). This year I have 2 babies to dress and I need ideas for them too so if you think of any, let me know!

  • Aaron won't dress up unless he is in his tux.  One year we went as a 40's style pin-up girl and her man-whore.

Angel - that iss too cute - I have a picture of myself as  little girl with my mom (just like yours) - we were both indians.

  • 1. We usually do to go out or to a party. But I'm stumped this year and DH won't stop asking me about it. If he had his way, he'd go as Flava Flav or something.

    2. I was pretty into my flapper costume (generic, but stylish) from 2007.

    Pic below!

  • Sorry mamie - didn't evn answer your question.

    1) I doubt we will do anything :(

    2) My favorite were from when we were kids really (spaghetti and meatballs, the empire state building - my mom was really creative).  I'll post the pone pic I have access to right now.  I'm the cop.  Its like blue collar sluts here...

  • Not sure what the plan is for this year yet -- I may ditch the matching costume with my hubby and go out with girlfriends instead.

Here's me and DH last year:

  • You are all so damn cute in costumes.

Here's me in 2008 -- Greek goddess or something.

And yes, BFF IS Hannah Montana.

  • I'm loving these! As I mentioned, I've always been the stereotypical slutty girl on Halloween. It's fun, but I think I'd like to branch out from that this year. Anyway, SBS's picture made me think of this one from a few years ago. Of course the girl with braces gets to be tin man!

  • Grr. Try this again

  • Hannah Montana drinking a beer -- $20 says we see that ACTUAL picture on Perez Hilton in, like, 9-12 months.

Chrissy, that group pic is so cute! My friends and I were going to do that one year, but we ended up going as pirates instead. (Can't find the pics right now...I'll keep looking...)

  • Love these!!

Mamie-Is that a Long Island Iced Tea or Tucher with lemon? LOL!

Chrissy and Cru (love those stories about your mama!), I used to do slutty too (that's why Halloween is fun, right?!) Sadly, I think the last time I really dressed up for Halloween was in 1998! Pathetic! (I was working at Carrabba's if you notice the restaurant-like setting). I am on the right (with short hair).

  • If we were dressing up I think I'd insist on Dr Brennan and Booth from Bones.  We both love the show, and DH has the 'cocky' beltbuckle already.  Yes, he's a dork.

Turns out he has duty that night, so he won't be home.  Plus to the schedule change...he's home for my birthday! (the next day)

  • Booth and Bones is an awesome idea! I LOVE that belt buckle, where did your DH find it?
  • I so wish we could do it this year...but I figured I'd share in case any of the rest of you were interested.  I wouldn't be the best Bones, but with the right clothes I could do alright.

No idea where he got the buckle.  Guessing Amazon or he googled it (I just googled it and like 15 of them showed up).  I attached one of the links...not saying I'd recommend using this one...but I liked that it had a picture of the belt buckle (aka Booth) in action.

He got it for himself as a joke for his b-party.  Man did I razz him about that.

  • 1) Not sure, but hopefully.

    2) Favorite costume was our 1920s bank robber couples costume from a couple years ago. Pin stripe suits, toy tommy guns, hats, and loot bags I made. :)  But here is a pic from one of my years as Wonder Woman, DH is Zorro (his drummer nickname).

  • DH LOVES dressing up for Halloween.  Actually, most occasions.  We get tons of trick-or-treaters at our house, though, so that is probably what we will do.  I like having all my friends over.  I make a to-die-for pumpkin lasagna.  We can drink a lot.  But it's more fun when you get to wear your costume out somewhere.

Last year we were an 80s prom king and queen.  We made up our costumes from thrift store clothes.  Sadly, I got a new camera in November so anything older than that is lost.  You'll just have to use your imagination.

P.S. My dream costume has always been a mermaid.  With a big green sequin tail.

  • angel - it was a Miller Lite!

sbs - I'm sensing your prediction will be right on.

leigha - So cute! And if I may make a potentially inappropriate comment, your DH is totally working that costume.

  • haha, not inappropriate! He's a hottie, and he totally pulls that costume off well. What was great was that people who had already met him didn't recognize him.  It made it all the more believable that Clark Kent got away with just glasses!

  • 1. Are you dressing up this year? If so, what as?

I'm not sure yet. My MOH is getting married on Nov. 1, so we'll be in upstate NY for that. Doubtful that anything will be going on, but who knows...

    2. What is your favorite costume you've ever had?

It would have to be when I was cheetos-chompin' britney and DH was k-fed.

  • Ok, I missed that pic so I went to find it. Here we are after all!

  • YIKES!  So when they say "tinypic" they actually mean giganto-huge-tastico pic?  Sorry guys.  Lesson learned.  I won't do that again.

  • Pssst, one of the advantages of the nest over the knot is the preview button.  It's very handy for picture post proofing.

  • Tim and I are dressing up this year, but we arent sure what to dress up as just yet.  We were thinking of possibly being tetris pieces.  We'll see though...

Last year we were oompa loompas... sooo much fun!  This is SIL, Me and DH

    image

  • I doubt we dress up. Everyone we know is lame doesn't do anything fun for Halloween.

  • Good to know.  I did the "web posting" one without even looking at it.
  • Last year was the first year that I didn't dress up (so sad). I used to go the slutty costume route. The last time I dressed up was 2 years ago, Tobias and I dressed up as Britney and K-Fed (I've definitely posted this here before, but oh well):

The only other Halloween pictures that I have on my computer is from 2006, when I was a pirate when I studied abroad in Sydney. I've since lost about 20 lbs:
