I know I ask this a lot...
but I need suggestions on what to bring for a potluck. I have bomed the last few and so I need to bring something good.
I was thinking of bringing a side dish since only one person signed up for that. But I am drawing a blank. (the other person is bringing rice).
Main dish is also available but I figure that might be too much (money and time).

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
Guac is popular here too. That could work. How much are avocados these days?

Good to know. I will ask around and make sure nobody is bringing that. I may just bring that and chips.
(although other suggestions are still welcome)
Ditto
Also what I found really helps, is if you put it in a bowl put saran wrap on it but push the saran wrap down into the guac so there is no air in between.
Also I got avocados at Vons for 75 cents this week. I don't know when their sale ends though.
Yep! I do this, too!

Whaaaa, I just bought some for .50 a piece the other day. That's crazy.
Ditto everything Kim and Royn sain on the Guac. I'll also add some cilantro, but some people don't like it.
You can also make a pasta salad. I made one last summer that was super easy and everyone loved it. I'll see if I can find the recipie.
My DH makes the best guacamole and adds cilantro and garlic along with everything everyone else said.
Also I just recently bookmarked this page http://inpassionatepursuit.blogspot.com/2009/07/delicious-dips-for-any-get-together.html
That texas/southern caviar has been going around the blogland

This was really good. I even saved myself some to eat for lunch at work.
I rely a lot on Kraft foods.com for recipie ideas when I'm stuck. I've never gotten a bad review from anything I made from their site.
CHEESE WINS AGAIN!
I usually make guacamole with avacados, tomato, cilantro, lemon, green onions, and salt. SOOOO good.
I started making a pasta salad that is really good as well.
Box of pasta, fresh mozarella, cherry tomatoes, pesto sauce, black olives, salami, and fresh basil...I think that's it. It is absolutely delish.
CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
Really?!
Sounds gross right? But it totally works, and you can't taste the mayo, although it does make the guac a little creamier.
I put a little mayonnaise in mine, and it still turnes brown. What kind of mayonnaise?
Just one of those things I would never have thought to try.
