Friday topic of the funday
This one was also inspired by the Nest homepage. What's your favorite mixed drink? Doesn't matter if it's alcoholic or not. Share the recipe if you happen to know it.
Re: Friday topic of the funday
Mine is a Cherry Gin Rickey. I was at Cheesecake Factory one day and they have a Gin Rickey on their menu. I ordered it, but asked them to add grenadine, because cherry makes everything better.
Recipe:
lemon-lime soda
splash of lime juice
1 shot of gin
grenadine to taste
At least that's the recipe we used at our wedding, it was one of our drinks. My coworkers used to tease me about always getting red drinks, so I thought it was appropriate to have a red drink at our wedding.
oooh! I like this one!! My favorite drink in the whole wide world is a margarita on the rocks.
Simply Limeade (easier than squeezing a bunch of limes, and there's already sugar in it!)
Tequila
Splash of Orange Juice
Salt the rim of your glass
ENJOY!
I love sweet tea... So my I am in love with Fire Fly vodka w/ lemonade. Or it i have a crystal light packet I mix that with it!(sounds weird but so good)
I think I vary depending on the season, but I will ALWAYS go for a perfect mojito. I usually make them by the pitcher, but I'll take a gander at what would go in a glass:
1-2 T sugar (pure cane sugar is best, and I like to throw in a little brown sugar)
6-8 mint leaves
1/2 lime, sliced
1 1/4 oz light rum
club soda
Muddle mint, lime & sugar in the bottom of a highboy, add ice, pour in rum, then fill to top with soda.
If I make them in a pitcher, I like to make a simple syrup first, squeeze the limes, muddle the mint, then add in the rum & soda.
Looks like I killed Thursday's thread - too bad.
I love sangria. There are a ton of different recipes out there, but here's one of the easiest ones I know. It's a Tuscan style sangria.
Mix in a pitcher: 3 sliced lemons, 3 sliced limes, 3 sliced oranges, a bottle of Vin Santo, and a bottle of Chianti. Refrigerate overnight.

Oh sure, post this at 8 am when I still have 9 hours left to work hehe.
I love...
Cranberry/Vodka
Kahluah/Cream
This is a recepie I got from a friend. It's very tasty!!
A lovely white sangria with great balance. Make it a day ahead to allow the flavors to intensify.
750-ml bottle dry Riesling
1 1/2 cups white cranberry-peach drink
1/2 cup peach schnapps
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2-inch-thick lemon slices
2 1/2-inch-thick orange slices
2 peaches, cut into wedges
10 fresh raspberries
3 cups ice cubes
Put in fridge with plastic wrap and a rubber band over the pitcher so the alcohol doesn't evaporate. I don't put ice in until I serve it.

I'm a mojito girl as well, but I do love mimosa's or anything made with some bubbly!
Mimosa
Orange Juice
Sprakling Wine of some type (Mumm Cuvee is my favorite)
Pour a little OJ in a flute, followed by the sparkling wine. Enjoy
You can also substitute the OJ with any fruit juice, cranberry is good as well! Or I occasinally put in Chambord and Champagne...is it 5 yet?
I love a pina colada. Not only is it yummy, it reminds me of fun tropical vacations (like our honeymoon!)
Pina Colada Mix (this is the easiest way to go)
Rum
Ice
Blend those together, and serve with a pineapple garnish (if you want to be fancy). Then close your eyes and imagine the palm trees...
I love a Madras, I usually order it with Stoli.
Stoli Vodka, OJ with a splash of Cranberry
Also good a Malibu Bay Breeze, which is Maliby rum, Pineapple Juice with a splash of cranberry! Yummy!
I fell in love with mojitos when I spent 6 weeks in Oaxaca, Mexico. There was a restaurant called La Biznaga that made the best mojito I have ever had...no place has ever been able to match it.
Dirty Bananas! It's all I drank on our HM. Much better with Jamaican bananas than the ones I can get here, but still soo yummy!
1 ounce rum-based coffee liqueur
1 ounce rum cream
2 ounces milk
1/2 ounce simple syrup (a mixture of 1/2 water and 1/2 sugar that is simmered until sugar is dissolved)
1/2 banana
1 cup ice
Add everything in a blender and mix. It makes 1 drink. It's not very strong, so I always add 1 oz. dark rum. DH nicknamed that version the Filthy Banana
I love a good Amaretto Sour!
I'm a little late to post, but I just wanted to share my favorite fall drink. For those who like Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, this is a link to a recipe so you can enjoy them at home ( and save money!)

Enjoy!!
I'm simple.
Jake and Diet or Vodka and Cranberry
I'm boring - I love to order screwdrivers - OJ & vodka.
Other favorites include: pink lemonade with raspberry vodka, orange juice with strawberry vodka, mojitos, margaritas (plain or strawberry), madras (cranberry, vodka and OJ or grapefruit juice), white grapefruit and vodka... I mostly like vodka. We have like 10 different flavored bottles at home right now. I recently also tried melon vodka with lemonade - yummy!

Tequila Sunrise!
tequila, oj, and grenadine. That is all
