It looks bleak for my friend's dad

2 months ago he went for a routine physical and they found a spot on his lung. A week later he was diagnosed with lung cancer and started chemo and radiation. A few weeks ago he started vomitting and always felt light headed, and they just found out Tuesday that the cancer has spread to his brain. They are continuing to do radiation but it sounds like there's not much hope. My heart is breaking for her. She's putting up a brave front, but I know the idea of losing her dad is starting to scare her. I just hope he hangs on until we're back from our trip. She doesn't have many close friends, and I don't want her to be alone.

Re: It looks bleak for my friend's dad

  • Oh Mel, how awful. :(

I'm so sorry about her dad - and all as a result of a routine physical. It's so scary how we can be sick and not know it.

Hugs to your friend. I hope that he hangs on until you get back from Cabo - she'll need you.

  • oh no, that is so hard. Like Natalie said, what a surprise to find something like this during a routine physical, especially with how much it has spread already. I hope he pulls through or at the very least hopefully you're back to support your friend.
