I'm Back...
Was MIA for almost a full week. We left last Thursday for Ohio (to go to H's uncle's wedding and his niece's christening)...sadly, his aunt ended up passing away on Saturday night at the young age of 50. It was pretty unexpected. She had been in the hospital since Tuesday, but we all thought she would pull through it, as she had a few months back when she came down with a bad infection. Her children made the decision to pull her off the respirator on Saturday, and she passed away several hours later.
Her husband died just 7 months ago from cancer, so the kids (ages 28, 26, and 22) have lost both of their parents in a 7 month timeframe. It's horrible, but I am glad we were able to be there for them and the rest of the family.
On to happier situations...........H's surprise 30th birthday party is this weekend in Nashville and he still has NO clue whatsoever! I can't wait to see his face when everyone surprises him. We had a mini-surprise party for him this past weekend, too, so his parents and brother could celebrate his birthday (and some of his other friends)...so that will ward off any idea of a surprise party in Nashville.

I can't even imagine what her kids are going through.
But, I'm excited to see the outcome of the surprise party this weekend. Do you have your outfit picked out? Oh, and what did you end up wearing for the wedding last weekend?

Oh, and the craziest thing....I'm 90% sure we saw Carrie Underwood in the Nashville airport (we fly in/out of there because it is cheaper). We were getting off the plane heading to get our bags and I saw this girl that (if it wasn't her, looked just like her)....I was staring and then when she started talking I REALLY thought it looked like her...I turned to H and he was staring too and he goes "that looks just like..." and I finished his sentence with "Carrie Underwood."
She was in between two other people...one tall black guy and another girl. I would have thought she would have more people around her if it was her, but maybe no one noticed her yet? Who knows. I'm a huge country music fan, though, so now I kind of wish I would have at least asked!

I'm so sorry to hear about your H's aunt. What a double tragedy those poor kids have faced
I too would like to know what you ended up wearing to the wedding.
A-diggity, I googled and apparently she does fly in and out of the regular Nashville airport on Southwest...pretty crazy! Maybe that was her...in town for Tuesday and leaving out again Wednesday...who knows!
Also...that outfit I sent (dress+cowboy boots) is what I'm planning for Friday night...need to go shopping tonight, though, and find something for Saturday. I also found the dress I initially got (that I sent in email) for a huge discount - initially was $118...taking it back because I have another on hold where I found it 30% off (plus another 20% off for this event they had yesterday). For the wedding, I found another dress - same dark brown color that tied with a big satin ribbon that functioned as straps and what held the dress together up top (hard to explain) but got it for 30% off at Belk too. It worked well - perfectly dressy without being too dressy or too casual.
Yep! Turns out that one guy is coming in with H's best friend+his wife that H knows are coming in...so he will be the initial surprise (because we are picking them up from the airport). Then, we'll check into the hotel and are planning to head to one bar and I'm going to have 4 of the other people meet us there (because they are supposed to be in town around 1pm and we won't be in there until 6pm-ish). Then last friend doesn't get in until 8pm, so I'm going to text him around that time and let him know where we are and he's going to meet us wherever we are. I can't wait!

. It sounds like you had a busy week. That's nice that you were able to be there for your H's family though.
Btw, you must post pics from the bday surprise!! I can't wait to hear about it.
