Help with ideas

MH's family is coming in for a visit in a few weeks and around that time it is my SIL #1's b-day, my BIL's b-day, and my BIL/SIL#2's anniversary. My BIL is easy to shop for...but I have no idea what to get for SIL #1's b-day and BIL/SIL #2's anniversary.

It has to be something easy to carry back on an airplane. We usually don't do gifts unless we're all together at the time.

SIL #1 likes tea, taking baths, enjoys going to the spa, and is in her mid 30's.

BIL/SIL #2 have been married for 7 years and they enjoy going out to eat, vacationing, and drinking wine.

Can anyone help me with some ideas besides bath products for SIL#1 and a gc to a restaurant for BIL/SIL#2? TIA!

Re: Help with ideas

  • You get your bil/sil a gift for their anniversary?
  • Usually something small (sorry should have added that).

That's nice of you.  Sorry, I dont have any ideas...I woul say gift cards but they aren't local.

  • Do you have any specialty tea shops, Kristin?  That's an idea for SIL.  What about a spa package of some sort for her time in Chicago-land (a good way for her to relax while she's "on vacation".)

BIL/SIL... I'd search for travel accessories.  Something organizational or the like to make trips easier for them going forward.  Or a bottle of local wine, a tour of a local winery (maybe they can set up a little date for them?  Tour + picnic?)

Those are good ideas Paula! Unfortunetly they aren't in town long enough for me to book them any sort of tours or spa nights. But going off of your ideas I think I'll have the hotel BIL/SIL are staying at send them a nice bottle of wine (they are staying 1 night in downtown Chicago before heading out to the suburbs). And for SIL I think I'll get her some nice teas and a monogrammed travel mug. Thanks!
